I don’t think he was a success at London and Richmond is in the lower ranks of RU, currently third from bottom of the Championship. Maybe he could be a success, but probably less experienced than Finnigan, who was not universally accepted on here from the start!

I’d be amazed if Andrew Henderson is not first choice,According to League Express Phinney indicated there has been applicant’s from Uk and Abroad,Saying that he also said Ryan O’Brian is in the frame also.

I'd prefer Henderson if he is affordable.Apparently he still sees himself as a SL head coach but it's not happening. The Leeds job has gone and Willie Peters is favourite for  HKR.

@jeffjonno Ryan O'Brien it is then, I'm not convinced the club have any money for a better qualified person 😉

He may well be a great coach in the future but is tainted by being assistant to the previous coach and also lacking experience ........Saying that he will be cheap so its a done deal and would be the final straw for me to indicate tge club is finished.

If we have so little money why are we employing a CEO and an invisible one at that. Who has agreed to the Dupree release and what if the new coach doesn't want Johnson. Adds weight to O'brien getting the job.

I would agree, one way or another we must still be paying off Finnigan. Can't believe we have money for a 'household' named coach atm.

How much does a part time championship coach earn......There are only so many coaching jobs available in Rugby League so if you have your coaching qualifications and want a job in the sport you either take a punt on what's on offer whilst continuing with another job or spend the rest of your life telling people I could have been a coach.

Same rhetoric as last time which ended up with the appointment of SF.

Difference is there are people out there who were not available last time who have more experience and a track record, unlike both SF and ROB. ROB could be a good coach, but at this point it would be more of a gamble IMO.

Also, with ROB, why is now the time compared to 18 months ago when the job was available?

As mind-boggling suggestions go, this one is up there.

Not heard a great deal of rumours - beyond John Stankevitch.

What is ROBs background? I doubt Stanky will want to come on board but who knows. We need someone who dosnt see us as a stepping stone to a better coaching job. I think they will appoint from within, Matty Smith for example

There's no chance whatsoever of it being Rob Powell. And I'm astounded he's even been suggested.
