The advertisement from the club around the town is very poor, for example if you drive into Warrington from whatever side u have a “ welcome to Warrington the home of the Warrington wolves” underneath surely the council and the club can agree on something like this? Can’t imagine it costs much and then all around the stadium lampposts wire have banners and stuff like that etc it’s nothing groundbreaking in term of advertising but certainly makes you notice it and again I can’t imagine that breaks the bank as it’s been there for years now. Widnes fail to advertise apart from on social media and even then it’s mostly dominated by twitter and the facebook doesn’t have as much update. They really need to up the game with advertising that Widnes rugby league is still in the town and wants the fans back. Get a load of QR codes around the town linking to club’s social media and ticket links because u never know who u might attract

The podcasts are really good and with living in the states I can’t make it to the games in person, I usually listen to radio merseyside but watched the York game on YouTube last weekend, I have mentioned on this forum not that long ago about the possibility of widnes doing it and linking it with the radio commentary. I personally would love to watch is every week and I would be happy to pay for the services

Steve tyrer as mentioned in the latest episode is now looking after the pathway, getting into Schools (junior & senior)and getting them involved with a widnes schools cup, played at the stadium could be a way to get more people invested into the club. The future of the club isn’t 55+ year olds it’s the youth of the town. Football has steadily overtook rugby league in the town.

Well i think Steve Tyrer will do an excellent job and football is exposed much more and has the razmataz to it and the money. If Widnes was as big as Wigan or Saints in Super league it could even up. Personally i love several sports and why cant people watch both. If you are no good at football you may be a very good rugby player, or more of an opportunity to earn some money extra at something you are decent at in a sport.

Listening to the Podcast we have 5 other clubs who spend more than us and Oldham double our wage bill. They are lucky to have a benefactor. So Bradford,Toulouse, York, Oldham and Featherstone are 5 clubs spending more than us so we have to find a way to generate more money to compete closer to them for players. WVIPS helps but I feel the club should try Easy Jet and Jaguar Land Rover to join forces even if a small share holdings.

@mikeparsons multiples for you guys ...couple relevant ones that seem to have people talking ..

1... Any truth whatsoever to the maizen rumours

2..do you feel beyond this season Liam bents inclusion is justified...while yes he'll tackle a truck he does seem to be an enigma in that he can't break a tackle to save his life ..

3..are the club right to think they can be a top end championship team with our current budget constraints compared to others  and our diabolical at times record in recruitment ..something we make a mess of year on year ...

4..thoughts on our DR agreement with Warrington..good ..bad.. indifferent? Should we be dictated where they play ..and if not should we be giving it a wide berth in future and looking to hook up with another team ..

5...should any jack Owens future at Widnes be seen as a centre and not FB ...

6...thoughts on players being able to talk to other clubs in may for 2026 contracts when in reality their only 8/9 games into the current season at their respective clubs ...

7whose been the biggest plus and could do better players up to now ...

Thought I'd pepper you incase theirs a lack of questions 😂

P.s nothing personal towards certain players but their names do reoccur quite often

Diabolical recruitment! Fair minded words  Cumbrian.I suggested that the new contract for the coach was awarded a little prematurely but James told me straight, that the coach is needed in place in order to sign players for the 2026 season.Unfortunately his  track record in this department is less than impressive, signing old pals and third division players not good enough for this standard.

Spot on Sinbad, there is a reason Swinton were relegated; the players!!! Spelly told me not so long back that we have EIGHT old Swinton players in the team that week and also two on the coaching side of things. I do agree that the coach needs to be in place to provide some kind of incentive BUT i also think that someone needs to question HIS judgement and "I can work with him" is not a valid reason to  sign someone

Think James was making point we need stability in the coaching set up ...six coaches in six years is ridiculous by any stretch...if you look at the current squad I can't honestly say there's many that have proved good solid recent signings...lyodd and butt are steady eddies....Murray I'd say has done well...Reilly I still don't think we've seen the best of ...I don't honestly see the merits of bent ..maybe I'm being harsh ....gregson is just woeful for me ..he's probably the epitome of people's jolly boy Swinton club accusations...kirk .. mountain of a bloke that just seems to fall over in contact .team just lacks a real spark ...if fozard is off his game there's literally nothing creative wise ... probably why so many are praying maizen comes in ... because he instantly makes your team less predictable and can conjure something out of nothing

Agreed I spoke to AC two years ago when Swinton beat us at home, he said to me " I wish that I had yor budget for players " Well he got his wish but nothing has improved.  We need improvement throughout the whole club. Went in hospitality for the Barrow game and it was a shambles there was no seating arrangemet and nobody could get in the stands as no tickets was issued.Very poor again by the club. We need to vastly improve not only to entice new fans but to keep the core.

Well are we looking for new investors for the club, especially with a big business acumen. The board have saved the club and are just fans who are keeping us on budget. But to go to the next level we need real business men, because people like Matt Taylor is a lovely bloke, but not a real business person to get us to the top. There is big business companies around such as Jaguar Land Rover and Easy Jet down the road. I just wondering if they are approaching companies with confidence.

This dual system is not working with Warrington I see Alfie Johnson gone on a season long loan to Halifax which is miles away from Warrington 🤣

Have we had any investment coming in to the club over the last 3 years.

It's difficult but are we any nearer to getting anyone on board with cash

What have we done to rectify last years IMG grade so far.

How do our season ticket sales and sponsorship income stand up to last season

Any plans to change kit supplier next season so stock is easier to get hold of.

How is the relationship with the council as they dont seem to be very good in terms of game day stadium operations. Is this holding the club back and putting off fans (poor fan experience)

Personally I like AC, he might not be a big name like Tim Sheens but he has the club at heart and is passionate about the job, I think he’s the best option for the club for at least the next couple of years as he’s on a limited budget.

Not sure if it’s been asked before or been answered but with this new fella coming onto the board does anyone know what the requirements are and what you have to invest or add to the club etc? ( Am not volunteering by the way!)
