@martin You can only cheat it if you have the money to do so. The harsh realities of the 'new cap' next year will be hitting home, as the spend will reduce by approx £100k next season. And you know what that means, the big scissors are being sharpened, as WV play to the rules.

(exceptions may be made for players already contracted next year)

So if a sponsor came in and sponsored a players wages for a year would that be salary cap exempt as wages are paid elsewhere by a third party?

just trying to see where others clubs will gain a advantage and is the quota for overseas players changing

@vikingfox71 On that I can't answer. James may well know the ruling on that scenario.

I watched the latest video and it looks like the board is doing a good job of running the club in a sustainable manner, when the inevitable happens and London are promoted to super league and the salary cap is brought in how that affects our chances of promotion only time will tell but it looks like from next season it will be a more level playing field in the championship. I just hope our fan base will be happy to watch us at this level and crowds don’t dwindle even more.

Well you hit the nail on the head there - hope crowds keep the same , but why would they if you are playing in a meaningless league ?
our only hope is that a few clubs in the promised land fail - York and shuddersfield are realistic possibilities there

see hudds we’re celebrating with a crowd just over 4K

and London crowds ? Not announced since the Widnes game

onwards and upwards

Very good interview and very informative..Matt gave good answers to alot of the questions...only gripe is I'm not sure what games he was watching when he said we "physically dominated both Doncaster and barrow"..found that bizarre to be honest as facts were polar opposite....that being said it's neither here nor there now ....great interview mike 👏

Apologies for the delay, the reason was the effort that has gone into the heritage videos and retro round content. It is all hands to the pump at the moment with the departure of Dan and Tim only just being back.

For those not on social media, the episode is in the Forge Podcast threat pinned at the top of the forum.

A great Podcast and positive to hear still in talks with someone from the Middle East and Australia. The problem is knowing what goal posts the RFL change again. The stadium is always a risk until an owner takes it or a long lease from the Council. Players on 2 or 3 year contracts makes sense for stability and loans difficult if clubs in Super League have injuries.
