When we were in Super League Gilmore used to drive me absolutely crazy because he was so ineffective against those teams. However at this level, he is one of the best half backs in the Championship. I would have felt more comfortable with one year, given his age, but he was probably being offered two years elsewhere, so maybe we had to do it to keep him. Even though he is towards the end of his career, his game was never based on pace and if he stays injury free for the next two years, this signing could work well.
