Wasn't there for the announcement as I was in work, but had a ride over in the evening when the party was still going on! And.................

It was still going on when I left! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I also remember going to the (I think) ICI Club on Liverpool Road (again I think) 12 months previously, when the proposed celebrations had turned into a wake, following your failure to get the nod.

Will you ever see SL football again at NP?

@spelly under the current IMG rules no. Once it goes back to promotion and relegation, which it will as we have seen all this before yes.

On the one hand its a shame as it takes some of the excitement out of the Championship. Its such a close league, 6 or 7 teams have a genuine chance to win the GF. It must have an impact on Championship crowds not being able to go up.

On the other hand, just reading an article on how much the SL sides are losing, its about £1.5m per season and that's Wigan, Saints and Warrington getting 10k crowds. Without a rich chairman the reduced TV deal means SL is no longer sustainable as a full time sport. Even the rich ones won't put £1.5m per season in, or in 5 to 10 years they won't be rich anymore!

To be in SL we need a multi millionaire backer or a much improved TV deal. Both would be brilliant!
