From your comment, it would appear that Toulouse are being considered for relegation which, as you said would be a travesty. I wonder if that is based on the anticipated IMG gradings?

The RFL should stick with their decision to use IMG gradings to determine the 14 teams in SL. This may well mean London will be in SL anyway and Toulouse relegated, which highlights the nonsense of the IMG Spreadsheet League.

Here is my suggestion to the RFL and it is a novel idea in SL. Promote the team winning the Championship play-off and relegate the team finishing bottom of the SL table. Mmmm, let me think? I wonder why that suggestion won't fly?

Seriously, this would be an opportunity to announce a two division SL from 2028 with promotion and relegation based on performance on the pitch. The IMG criteria to be used as now, requiring teams to be graded minimum B for entry into SL.

When they started these ratings, the idea was that any team who achieved an A-grading would be guaranteed a place in SL. But, seeing as some clubs won't share money with others, how would that work? And what if, lo and behold, every club suddenly found the money to invest and achieve an A-grading? How would SL manage that?

It's all a bit shifty really, and very amateurish. On one had, I'd like the NRL to come in and shake it up just to stick it to the likes of McManus but then, if they do, they're bound to make it a closed shop and snooker us for ever.
