Not sure that spending on a 'play sometimer' is good business tbh.
I suggested that maybe a second level Aussie half back might be an option but there aren't that many within our price range maybe and there aren't that many UK Cravens out there who are tough enough to be regular.
Much of our strength atm is our Vikings spine knowing each other. An 'old fashioned' pack that is solid and tough laying the ground for Gilly and co. could take us a long way, but it is finding and assembling that pack!!!
It is a shame about Craven because he is a good player at this level when fit. Unfortunately I feel injuries are catching up with him mate. I agree difficult to find a quality half with our budget, but hopefully a player in early thirties who is durable wants part time. Aussie 2nd grade who is better than Lyons possibly. 👌👍

I don't think Lyons is as bad as a handful of posters on here say he is. I believe he will be a decent enough half back with either a decent SO outside him or a decent SH inside.
Craven retiring is the right thing to do.He's not getting any younger and he's half man,half biscuit.He's had a good run in the professional game.

Yes he played ok last week outside Tom, but we need cover somewhere or a new recruit next season

Agree. Not sure what people expect from a 3rd choice half back playing in the second division. He needs to be given a run at the same position, with the same half back partner. He’s been moved too many times.
The club need to show a bit of ambition and sign a quality half back for next season, we’re just going round in circles without one.
