Widnes Vikings are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Taylor to the Board of Directors.

Matt joins the Board as a Director and Shareholder following clearance of due diligence by the club and the Rugby Football League.

On his appointment to the Board of Directors, Matt Taylor said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the board at Widnes, to invest in and assist the club I have supported since the age of 7.

“As every Widnes fan knows, we have had some very tough times in recent years, I hope and intend to have a positive impact on the club.”

We look forward to introducing Matt to the Vikings faithful soon.

A good addition to the board

Think it might be, came on here as 'MT'. He's been quiet on here for some time, Widnes through & through though.

Matt made a sizeable donation, circa 10k when it was 'Save Our Club' after SOC, James Fool & the other charlatans  trousered our club

I know Matt Taylor well and is a top lad and a big fan. I will try and get some information 😂👍 I remember as a 19 year old him betting on the horses, and had a betting shop in Halifax. Bought his house off very quickly, and definitely has some money. Not sure a Degsy type but will have Widnes at heart.

I’m sure he used to sponsor the kit as the parcel centre

remember seeing him in the sponsors lounge at Saints

he agreed to allow the magic kit to have the Bobby Robson charity logo on the kits instead of his own

huge Widnes fan so I hold high hopes for him

He use to drink with me and my mates after playing 5 a side 20 odd years ago. Played very badly, but a lovely guy and definitely will give 100% for the Widnes Vikings.

This is a great appointment and hopefully bridges the gap between club and fans.
