@johng I've been critical about those players myself but they still contributed more to the club than the man with mic having a sly dig at them.Cheap shot.
@salwid where’s the ridiculous comment? Them players have been at the club from pretty much day one in the championship we never achieved anything with them. Craven and farnworth spent more time in the stands than on the pitch which is unfortunate for us but a fact. As for the rest of them if they was offered a contract with us and chose Oldham then it shows just the level they wanna be at. They’ve only moved down not up…

Well hopefully the players and new team can back it up with results. A lot of players like Amor let us down when I expected more from him. Hopefully got players that are workman like.

SalWid he is a fan and will be frustrated at some of the players under performing. He pays to watch these players and if they play crunchie he is entitled to an opinion if plays or not to be honest. A club like Widnes should not be coming 9th and changes have to be made because I think top 6 should be a minimum for this club. 👍💪
If I pay to watch my team I don't want players who keep dropping the ball, miss tackles and are only giving 50%. Craven has been a great servant, but hardly plays now with age and injuries catching up. I wish all players gone all the best but some passed their best.
Think from what James and others posted their is alot of positivity particularly on the back of what Coleman said ..n fairplay to Hamilton with his comeback on the wages offered to leaving players ..."says more about the player than the wages ..none have moved upwards"

The academy is a Cronton College link up. Will not be an in house academy and be very surprised should any 'academy' college players break into 1st team. Be similar to Leigh academy, Ticks the IMG box but will not be very fruitful
We don't get the Sky TV money to spend that much on an Academy. Without clubs getting 1 million things like this IMG can be difficult if revenue is not coming in.

Farnworth and Craven spend more time in the stands than on the pitch....not their fault but it is a cut throat business and they dont offer value for money. As for Lawton he could have been a world beater. There aren't many in the game who have his size and handling skills but he has never looked interested in giving his best consistently. Numerous coaches here and at other clubs couldnt get him to perform at a high level for long enough.
I dont blame them for leaving if they were offered a longer deal at Oldham as they have families to support but people talk as if we have lost a Myler and Sorensen and not players who havent exactly stood out in the worst Widnes teams of recent memory
.........and before anybody asks, No I have not played at any real level and they are all better than me BUT not good enough to get us where we want to be as the lsst few years have proven.
