It was said last night that the reason they have had to shut the shop in the market is because they got a letter around Christmas from the council saying that they were putting up the rent to between £16-18000 a year.
We asked about renting on a weekly contract and were told we could, but that would cost even more, as would a pop up shop. They weren’t very complimentary about the council. Pity they can’t try and help us, like Salford and Bradford’s council have.
Well that makes sense to not want the shop on the market especially how little they will sell during the year. Most people buy the shirts online and as long as someone answers the emails they can visit the club to exchange or take a product back. What other points raised and any chance of a big sponsor like Easy Jet? 🤣 Unfortunanetly we are in this position until big investors come in or own our stadium. I also wish our council was more supportive like Salford and Bradford.Anything on sales of Pass it on season ticket for kids numbers?
It might be worth changing the Topic name about Q & A night because there is another topic on Market Shop too.
Why does this topic need two seperate threads ?
@sinbad I thought it was slightly different because it wasn’t Alan Coleman that was saying about the shop as part of his Q and A, as he was talking about the Rugby side of things, it was Stuart Murphy who was answering a question about the shop.
Sorry if I’ve upset you again Sinbad!
@farnworth-viking In fairness, it's still about the market shop so could have gone in the original thread.

In future FV, don't bother your arse relaying back anything from Q&As or Fan Night Gatherings. Too many people on here are quite happy to 'shoot the messenger'. You were just trying to relay a bit of info.
There is another major issue that will crop up in a week or so that is going to piss people off about the Council, all will be revealed on a Members Monday (intimated by a 'raging' Stu Murphy last night). I suggest FV, tell the forum nothing. If people can't get to these nights, then tough titty.

Well if you want to be pedantic, the other thread that people have used to put comments on about last nights Q and A , is entitled Realistic ambitions for 2025. So they’ve all put comments on the wrong thread.
In the meantime I’ll write 100 lines, saying I must do better!

Hey not everyone lives in Widnes, and even people could work to 5.30pm and once home, had dinner and showered then I be late living in Sankey. 6pm is not a good time for everyone and I know Sunny boy lives in Morecambe and he would like to know what is going on. It is just silly having two threads of Market Shop as confuses things. Obviously he got this from the Questions and Answers and surprised the club hasn't put something on the Official site. So it be nice to have a topic Questions and Answers night which I am surprised nobody has mentioned on here.
What Clowns two Market Shop topics. 🤡🤡🤠🤣
What is this tough titty not everyone lives in Widnes dickhead 🤠🤡
@pascal True. Not everyone lives within spitting distance of the ground and fook all else to do
It's called little dick syndrome this is why people are not arsed going the games no more. People need to realise this is little old Widnes Vikings and not Man U or Bletchley Park, they think that 10 people posting on a forum represent the fans views well those clueless "I know everything but actually know fudge all" need to get out more. Fancy telling people to withhold info that would deter people attending,@pascal True. Not everyone lives within spitting distance of the ground and fook all else to do
I can't speak.
