Such a poor performance but we’ve finally got a win thank god! Alot worse watching on tv and some strange refereeing calls not sure how Londons first try stood as I thought it was a knock on London! Lawton was okay think he was trying too hard doesn’t look good for maizen either. Attacking wise we are dreadful Gilmore is dog shite and Owen’s clearly isn’t a halfback

There maybe a hint of discontent and consequent lessening of effort among likely 'leavers' I suppose.

But a win is a win, we have to be thankful for small mercies!!!

I don't think that's correct SG, they scrambled too many times to stop London scoring. I think the top and bottom of it all is we are a poor side made up of poor players, signed from poor sides and coached by a coach who last year hit HIS dizzy heights in regards to our finishing position. Even our star signing Aussies, where did they play? Whitehaven and a second rate French side

As a long time supporter and season ticket holder i now find it very difficult to motivate myself in regards to the team and yesterday was like a visit to the dentist; painful till it was over. BUT see you at the Halifax game!!!!

Correct but you forgot to mention the buck stops with the coach. No disrespect to him he is doing his best but IMO cannot understand why we signed him it showed no ambition whatsoever by the club as we needed a proper championship experienced coach to build from the bottom. His team his signings and his tactics, Owens should not make the team bar injuries but is treated like a god, he cannot play in his position so experienced players are dropped just to find a place for him.

As for the post match interviews enough is enough it's embarrassing to hear.

We dont have the best side granted but that was a decent 21 man Championship squad named. Did you see the London side, mostly a team of kids after the RFL/IMG relegated them last year and the owner quit. We just can't  score points. Even if we grind out a win it's boring. Reminds me a bit of Everton under Dyche.

We needed to win that game by hook or by crook and we did so that is a positive.

We haven't looked good in attack all season- one hopes that Patton makes a difference...

The highest we have scored was 34 against Rochdale and the highest against a Championship club is 28 against Hunslet.

Just hope we can grind out another few wins to ensure we avoid the bottom 4 and then go again next year...

Just a few points of note;

The Team didn't arrive until 40 mins before kick off

London's first try wasn't a try. It was a knock on, 10-15m from their own line, and should have been our scrum.

Rhys Williams scored in the corner, directly below where I was sat. The Ref disallowed it, and gave us a penalty for a high shot, 10m out, instead. I'd never seen him before, and his TJs were 2 French 'kids'.

It was sweltering hot conditions. We were the better team, by far.

The injury to Langtree is going to be a major blow.

If the Williams try, was 'held-up' then it surely should have been given as a penalty try.

@pauliewalnuts

absolutely should have been a penalty try and the game would have been different from there

but no disguising we were pretty clueless, we have no creativity and again seem to be lacking the team ethos

we can only get better !
onwards and upwards

Also is langtree injured - see maizen went off stripping a strapping off his arm

if we are missing these 2 a major blow I feel, unless the new signing can help

When it rains, it pours - kind of situation.

We are a team really low on confidence at the minute, it’s clear to see and not surprising. I think that adds in to the poor attacking completion. Some of our build up play was decent we just couldn’t finish it off and, against better teams, we probably would have faltered

Langtree is worse than Maizen, but I'll let the Club announce it rather than say what I was told immediately after the game. Sometimes things are not as bad as they first seem. Maizen played with a strapping on his arm, and seem to aggravate it when he was 'ankle tapped' going for the line late in the game.

Table looks a bit better now,all the teams below Widnes lost apart from Featherstone which puts us closer to Barrow anyway.

@sinbad i think the top 5 is nailed on. Toulouse, Bradford, York, Oldham and Featherstone. 6th Place between Fax, Barrow, us and Doncaster.  Within reaching distance but in poor form.
