Lawton's yellow card

From where I was sitting I didn't have a clear view of what happened.

Did anyone have a clear view and can tell me - was the incident worthy of a card?

The referee appeared to be about to give just a penalty until the TJ in front of the South stand came on the field and had a word with him.

Looked like a heavy tackle to me but didn't have a clear view, doubt that many did tbh.

There were several tackles around the head but no swinging arms etc iirc.

Wish Adam would stop waving his arms in an appealing gesture to the ref after every tackle and learn to keep his mouth shut. The answer is to tackle the opposition harder next time!!! The ref will just switch off if you continually appeal.

From where I was sat opposite it looked like a rough tackle he hit the lad hard but I saw no contact with the head. No worse than the rough tackles you see in SL every week. The referee said nothing about it until the touch judge ran on. If it was a head tackle it would have been red surely. Perhaps he used his shoulder?  To me he seemed to tackle the opponent head on chest to chest. Anyway no really bad outcome as no suspension for a yellow 10 minute spell. If it was filmed they could look at it after the game but it would be harsh if any more comes of it imo.

But shouldn't we have aspirations to be better than them?

That thing is it is part and parcel of the game now and we as a club have never used the rules to our advantage.

We never do the Wigan wriggle when been held down in the tackle sometimes it looks like we can't be bothered to try get a quick PTB.

I don't agree with things like this but if all the other teams use it to their advantage then so should we it at least evens things up. You know the old saying play to the whistle and play to the rules.
