Seems a strange decision
Looks like he's quitting the game.
The Leigh statement says he wants to pursue opportunities outside of the sport.

Seems more stranger that someone who claims to have knowledge of the game is over two weeks behind the rest of us. Even James wrote about this over two weeks ago.
Leigh have officially announced he's leaving today. An odd one for me as we announced his reason for leaving us as he wanted to pursue a full time contract.
If he wants to pursue opportunities outside the game, depending what it is then he could play RL part time? Leighs statement was also very short, didn't give much away.

I dont read every site, and this is a sad situation for jayden to be lost tovtye game.
@mick-george our media presence is poor compared to other clubs
Really poor
Its important to get our message out there to attract more fans
I doubt widnes pay this bloke james gordon but maybe they should drop him a tenner for his time

Well firstly you should give Jayden the courtesy of getting his name right, secondly anyone who follows the game as much as you claim to do would have seen weeks ago that Mr Hatton was not given a squad number in the Leigh squad, thirdly have not got a clue what this post is about or is it that you are obsessed with James.
Not sure why this is not in General RL forum. Why would anyone expect Widnes to comment on a former player leaving another club? Anyway, good luck to the lad in whatever career he is following. I suppose he could always return to the game in the future, if he chooses.
@mick-george i think Hatton will be a great signing for a lot of lower league clubs.
North wales crusaders look quite strong with a great new base in colwyn bay
Hopefully the lad can be kept in the game
The ups and downs of sport
Ince leaves because he is dropped for Hatton at Wembley
Hatton leaves the club and subsequently the game as Ince marks his return with 4 tries
Has signed for Swinton.
Has signed for Swinton.
A lot of disappointed people on here when Hatton wasn't offered a new contract. It's often interesting where they end up as a reflection of how right the initial decision was for us. Appreciate Hatton walked away from the game for a few months but the fact that he's gone to Swinton in League 1, says enough to me to suggest we made the right decision.

But Widnes did offer JH a deal, he wanted to pursue a FT career, and 'dallied' waiting for offers. Widnes subsequently spent 'his offer' on other players from relegated Oldham etc. Make no bones about it, Widnes wanted JH to stay. The situation was a bit of a mess IMHO, that was then, and this is now.
Pick which ever narrative suits yourselves.

Likewise you can have whatever narrative suits yourself too, the fact remains the same, whether Widnes wanted JH to stay or not, they made their decision to not keep him. Albeit as you suggest after withdrawing their initial offer, he has still ended up in League 1 playing for Swinton. Agree with Sinbad - Sam Freeman was suppose to be a big loss for us too, they'd have got better moves if they both were.
