Ha Ha - good point! Ours are physically bigger rather than reputationally!

They say that 'actions speak louder than words' I just hope that the Coach/Player package works well because that is what matters.

@sandgroper Lets hope so all we want is effort and determination every game, our coach stated we will entertain which is a rather bold statement. Here's hoping.

@prisoner well somebody needs a chill pill.

I wasn’t making excuses rather an observation about how having a FT squad is different to A PT team. Yes in the50’s 60’s 70’s and early 80’s we were PT but so was everyone else.

We did remain FT the year after relegation but it wasn’t a good season Then admin and Covid well We all know how that went.

Assembling and getting the best out of PT players has to be more difficult than that out of a FT squad especially if you’re playing against a FT team, look at last season when players start talking to other clubs it all went to crunchie for us.

Proof is always in the pudding but one thing I have noticed is that with the style of play Coleman is known for and with style he's quoting ..is that every single signing in the pack has one thing in common ..every single one is known for hitting contact and getting offloads away...even brooks who many lambasted is very good that way ..looks like even gregson who's tipped to play loose is strong in that department..in theory their will be alot of unpredictability in the team as last plays could end up with Gilly,Lyons, foz or gregson ..where as of recent you can predict exactly where the balls going late in the tackle count ..without banging a drum into submission I'd still say another 6 would be very beneficial but likelyhood is slim ..yes I'm grasping my straws firmly n hoping it pays off

That sort of play suits our backs, as quick ptb's would, using the forwards physical strength in another way.

The Sheens logic of 'play how you like, but practice it first!!!' made a lot of sense and makes the offload etc pay off.

Shades of Karalius and Collier with their own runners!!!!! If only!!!!!!

The reason we have not had quick PTB's in the past is because our props turn into contact thus loosing the collision every time, when tackled they would lie there until the tacklers let them up. The rest of the league wringled and tried to instantly get up after been tackled and often got a penalty for it. In defence we lie back and never push up in defence thus losing the collision every time, then we don't hold the player down long enough to slow it down even though every team in the league does. All schoolboy stuff lets see if Coleman changes this.

I assume, given the DR link up with Warrington, that there will be no further incomings, until Mr Burgess has assessed his squad and determined who is surplus to immediate first team requirements/who would benefit form regular game time in the Championship? No point us wringing our hands and saying what a sad state of affairs etc. etc., we just need to make the best of it, as other clubs have done, they have a stack of players at Warrington, so there should be some worth having. There is always the risk that anyone who does really well for us, is likely to be called back at some point, but they are sufficiently well stocked to offer us other players in return! There is always the chance one or two may fancy part time rugby anyway, rather than a very occasional game for Warrington!

Let’s hope a decent 6 from dire, hopefully on season long loan as otherwise there is no stability in the team

probably end up with the dud though, if we do it will be interesting to see how many minutes he does each game

Need a better quality number 6 if have any ambitions of top 6. Hope I am wrong and he has a fantastic season, but if a halfback gets injured we are knackered 🙈

Brad Dwyer is an interesting conundrum for Warrington. Signed before Burgess took over. Not sure whether Burgess is particularly interested in him (they've since signed Powell).

But of all positions, hooker is probably the one we're strongest - unless Fozard/Johnstone do stints at 6 or 13.

Can't see Dwyer being too content playing dual-reg week in week out, will probably end up on loan somewhere.

@jdgsport

He seems to have difficulty fitting into a team somehow. Always looks dangerous but as an individual rather than as part of a plan.

Can't quite make my mind up as to how we'll manage Foz and JJ. JJ has a bit to prove, I guess, but he is a strong defender at LF.

Our LF from Swinton and is Coleman's main pivot JJ is a hooker and will play there with Foz. Not sure why you want the best hooker in the comp not to play in his position .

@prisoner best hooker in the comp? When has he ever proven that?
