Heard a whisper that Gregson , although going to Leigh , will be loaned to us , Leigh are signing as many locals as they can to help with academy criteria

Do you mean Gregson, or Brogan?

As has been mentioned, it's a bit of a guessing game for all at present, so...................

And I openly admit it's nowt more than a guess from me, but.............

If Brogan (and he is a quality footballer) is being loaned to you from the LSV, could (and with Coleman being a Leyther) you be DRd with the Beaumont Brigade next term?

Spelly.

I would like to see the DR system permanently consigned to the bin. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we went down that road.

I don't like it either, but 'standing by your principles' means we lose out and others benefit!

May well be some legs in a DR with Leigh ... Beaumont and Coleman are personal friends ..degsy spoke out on twitter when Coleman got appointed and sung his praises...just don't want to see a Swinton/saints situation where some weeks starting line ups contained 5 DR players ..just makes a mockery of the game for me ..but I guess Swinton benefitted from it at the end ..

When we announced our DR with Saints, it was mentioned that they approached us, rather than the other way round.

** Both clubs benefit(ed) from the arrangement, and you can point particularly to George Delaney. He came to us, had a few games where you could see he has "summat" and since he's gone back, he's been a regular in their match day seventeen. I'm sure both he and Saints are grateful for the experience.

We only have a small squad, so with sixteen of 'em on the treatment table when we went to Odsal, without DR, we'd have been f****d.

Nowt's been announced so far about next term, but I would imagine that talks are ongoing.

Spelly.

@spelly not knocking Swinton.. ultimately it was a big factor in keeping you in the championship especially like you say with the injuries you'd been carrying ..just not really a fan of DR in general, think some clubs have just exploited it in the past , particularly Bradford...pros and Con's to it but for me I'd rather have a squad of 25/26 ish players that are your own

Cumbria Viking I prefer 25/26 of our own players, but some players would not play like Tilleke and Holroyde when struggling for players. I don't mind a few dual and loan players, but not to rely totally on it. Sometimes a loan for a few months is best, if the player is much better quality than one in your squad already.
