I haven’t got much of an opinion either way on Mike Butt but I think Rhodri Lloyd would be a good solid signing.

Think Lloyd would be a really underrated signing a leader and captain of swinton misses not a lot of games, can play 2 positions and clearly trusted by Coleman as for butt I’m really unsure on I suppose he will be a player brought in to challenge for a starting spot scored over 100 tries for swinton so not a bad return

I think Lloyd will be the obvious replacement for Grady at second row. We have a lot of new signings to look forward to. Brown Lawton davies Amor and farnworth all gone. I think the new coach will have a better chance to have the squad he wants compared to our last couple of seasons

looks like butt is replacing holroyd and could also deputize at fullback. I believe that is an improvement

He would be arguably replacing Millar as much as Holroyd. But we didn’t need five wingers last season anyway. Happy to go with four but we must replace the other players who have left.

Looks like the other MT which ever out of Millar and Holroyd will be replaced by Abel if rumours are true

Looks like Butt and Lloyd are NP bound. Both quality players at Championship level, and sorry to lose 'em, but c'est la vie!

Gregson (who gave me his shirt after the 'Fax game) is another departure. Could he also be heading your way?

The other two announced out-goers are Baker who's joining Mazey's Mob, and Brogan who'll be with the Beaumont Brigade next term.

Who's coming in? Poss one or two making the opposite journey of Butt and Lloyd? Time will tell!

Season ticket already purchased!

Spelly.

Agree with previous comments, rhodri lyodd is actually a very shrewd signing ..butt certainly has a decent try scoring record and like others have said most likely holroyd/Millar replacement...wouldn't be against gregson either aslong as he's not coming in as DCs replacement..as he does offer cover across the back row...vital for me a recognised specialist half back comes in ..that partner for Gilly is vital coz for me Lyons isn't the answer ...if money's tight wouldn't mind someone like nikau Williams at thunder ..young..can play 6or7 ..not exactly set world alight at Newcastle but was class at haven ..should be very interesting period coming up with so many bodies coming in ...

Heard Williams could be off to york but I would take James meadows think he would complement gilmore very well!

@blue-viking yeah agree..said on another thread he'd be a great partner for Gilly..16 tries in 24 games is pretty tasty ..not sure he'd see the merits of coming to us or whether he's contracted for 24 but definitely ticks all the boxes ..another one bit left field would be Connor Robinson who weirdly went to Donny .. remember him in his days at fax n York and always gave us major problems ..Jarrod sammut another..rumoured to be leaving barrow but talk is he's Keighley bound

Meadows would be very handy. Can’t see why we would want to sign Sammut who wouldn’t come cheap and will be 37 by the start of next season.

@mt yeah cost Vs age probably wouldn't work out but I will say even at that age he's probably still fitter than most halves ..hearts praying the club sign a half .but the heads saying they've already decided on a Gilmore/Lyons partnership with a stop gap like gregson or alike

Sammut fits the bill of a player that has caused Widnes problems over the years, then when it comes to signing is absolute gash.

Won’t be coming here though.
