🤣 IMG Eve, almost like Christmas.
Who's excited? 🤣
Apparently Castleford and Wakefield have been awarded Grade A licences, same as Wigan, Saints and Leeds.
this sport is laughable.
Is it a coincidence they are both Yorkshire based clubs?
Whatever happened to deciding things on the field of play eh?
it's a good job I'm so attached to this club because otherwise I reckon I'd be done with RL the way things are going.
Wakefield have pulled a master stroke getting relegated and banking a load of points this season.
is there really any way back for anyone in the Championship if Castleford and Wakefield are graded as some of the best RL has to offer?
How did any lower league club agree to any of this nonsense?
No I am not excited! It is a farce bringing the game into disrepute. Wakefield have failed to get a decent modern ground for nearly 30 years have only just attained promotion from the Championship yet we are told to expect & accept they have acquired grade A, top status. In other words they cannot get any better & canmot be relegated as a grade A club. Really? This sets a precedent. So if another Championship club repeats what Wakefield have done next year they should get promotion but will not. It is a fiasco.
Lets all just back our team & hopefully enjoy next season in the Championship which is more competetive at present than the SL.
How on earth have Wakefield and Castleford got grade A licences and can't be relegated? Somethings not right.
Cas ground is absolutely awful and they have had a very poor season on the field.
Wakey have traditionally got about 5.5k fans for years, have just been relegated/promoted yet have jumped straight to a grade A? Also they have 1 new stand, but the stadium is still pretty poor with the exec boxes housed in that block of flats style structure behind the posts.
They are also in RL saturated areas, I thought you got points for being in large population areas away from other teams. The population of Cas is tiny.
If these 2 are A grade, plus Leigh, it means nearly all of SL is now A grade and can't be relegated? I really don't understand it.
If you read the RFL points assessment guide the stadium score contributes 15% towards total score. One of the factors in it is stadium capacity divided by average attendance which will be a poor score for us.
And all this makes the brave assumption that Sky will still carry on paying!
If the man who pays the piper pulls the plug SL will be no more. What's more will the finance behind teams like Oldham still pay up when they see that they have gone as far as they are going to be allowed to go?
It is all a big joke this IMG bollox and if the RFL was based in Warrington or Widnes for example the Yorkshire clubs would be lower down. Funny Castleford and Wakefield close to RFL Headquarters. 🤣
On a serious note Sky could pull the plug anytime, and I would prefer Widnes to be self sufficient building up slowly to be a successful team in the Championship. Lets all enjoy the rugby and build up our fan base with attractive rugby.
Yes cas getting an A grade ?
still think hudds may be the fall guys yet, but talk on the radio was that Toulouse have not made the cut, if so RFL have spent £450 K on a system which promoted the playoff winners and relegated the bottom team
we could have done that for a fiver!
but the sad thing is with the new gradings it will become a closed shop until they decide to introduce a new team (Dublin for instance)
but in the mean time we should enjoy the championship with a competitive team
and the system will change again in a few years
Wow,what a time to be alive.A school report from IMG.It doesn't get any better than this.
Don’t really care about the score, IMG, or the way the system is ran. But, unfortunately, it’s the way the sport is at the moment.
So a score below Barrow, Keighley, Sheffield, Halifax is surely a huge concern. We’re closer to bottom place North Wales than we are to 14th place London.
A Grade 'A' club can be relegated, but only when other clubs have attained 'A' status and take the number of 'A' Clubs above 12. The RFL then will either have to remain at 12(relegating the lowest ranked 'A' club) in SL or increase the competition.
Ideally we should be looking to a 14 Club SL, and then in time 16.

Anyway, it looks like we've just made the cut to stay in the Championship, ranked 22nd.
WE NEED TO LEAVE THE DCBL STADIUM ASAP, it's killing us.

Well I'm sure Chris Hamilton was brought in for this and too lose that many places in a year is a joke !!
the whole thing is a mess Halifax who are almost bankrupt are above us and they play in a empty stadium so the stadium costing us isn't entirely the whole cause I'm afraid Hamilton hasn't done the job required
Halifax have had a Winding Up order filed against them on Monday, they're right in the doh dah.
Don't forget on performance, Fax won the 1895 Cup in 2023
