We have two top quality wingers and ought to be giving them the ball more.

Johnson in particular isn't getting the chances other wingers get.

Couldn’t agree more Sunny. Every game we ask our forwards to drive it up through the middle against bigger players.

Seems like common sense to vary the play more than we do, and move the ball along our line.

Coronovirus affecting the attendance? That just about completes the list.Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, weather too cold, weather too warm, barbeques, kids off school, football on TV, Wimbledon final.
Fact is we had gates of 3600 for the first two home games but 600 people never went yesterday because we lost twice v London and Dewsbury.

Another reason/excuse could be that Everton and Manchester United were at home and on sky at the same time as we played,

That's the reason my bro gave. Bet he wished he'd come to the game now.  🙂

Agree the crowd was disappointing but has to be a chance that a percentage of our fan base decided not to come to the game due to the Coronavirus situation. Hard to guess how many but some will have been put off. Be interesting to see how crowds elsewhere held up this weekend.

Coronavirus, really?

The crowd was affected because of 3 local teams, Everton, Utd & City were on the telly. Like it or not, this is now a football town, and Widnes will always play 2nd fiddle in the future.

For what it's worth, I didn't think there was even 2977 in attendance.

Paulie xx

There is absolutely no way i would have ever missed a Widnes game to watch the football team I support on the telly

I'm not doubting it's now a football town but that is more likely due to the crap that has been served up over the last 20 years

Most young people today only know us as being also rans, it's much more appealing to spend £20 or £30 in the pub watching a game on TV than spend it at Widnes

Teams like wire and Cas have show that if you put a good product on the pitch fans will come but at the moment I think we are down to the hard-core that will continue to decline in exactly the same way the club has

Since when have Manchester City, Utd and Everton been  local Widnes teams ? 600 fans down in one month.A few may have stayed away to watch the football on TV but most,in  my opinion, spat the dummy after two defeats on the bounce.
