Money spare if Evans and Johnson gone. Possibly we should send Tilleke and Holroyde on loan too. Then half back and centre from Super league on loan to strengthen us until Gilmore and Max Roberts are back.
I thought the first half was our best performance for years against a potential top four side. Excellent defence throughout except for the 10 points conceded in the last few minutes. However that can be forgiven taking into account the previous 70 minute performance. Well done one & all. An excellent team performance. COYV!
Don’t get the clamour for a half back. Lyons is doing fine and getting better.
Rather we persevere with our own than give a SL kid game time.

If all we could get was a SL kid I fully agree Lyons is better. However both Craven & Lyons are unlikely to both keep fit for the next 4 to 5 months until Gilmore returns & we have no further cover. We have to get into the top 6 this year at least. I am sure there is a good quality half back in Oz that could do more than a job for us. Surely we still have some club contacts out there for recommendations. We do have the money from Johnson & Evans has also been rumoured to have left, although not yet confirmed by the club.

Mate as Geoff has just said Craven and Lyons won't both stay fit for 5 months. Getting someone in of quality from Australia with experience. Barrow had Sammutt last year who has experience and it is only to cover. We need a specialist half back not someone like Jack Owens for Craven if ended up out for 6 weeks. This could happen and hoping Lyons and Craven stay fit for 5 months is risky. Will Evans leaving and Max Roberts injured for 5 months that is 2 centres gone. So centre is a place we need cover too. We are fine for wingers as Ince and Holyrod haven't got a look in at the moment. If could send 1 on loan for a few months might free up some money too.
Just as an as aside, great camera work last night!!!
Re: Half backs.
This is the best start to a season Lyons has ever had.
Craven showed his strengths last night, open play, eyes up play what you see. When Craven went off we moved Owens to 6 and Fleming to FB so this is the back up. We did then however have Sam Wilde in the centres. If Evans has lef the club we may need cover here before half back, also when JJ is back Fozard can play 6.
Great performance last night, very enjoyable to watch against a side we're competing against - move of the same Sunday please.
Hopefully the club is monitoring the situation for good players who may become available as whilst we are playing very well we are only a few more injuries away from struggling to put a side out. Thought 28 players was about right at the start of the season and with Johnson and seemingly Evans gone, I’d be looking for a replacement prop and a player who can play both at centre and in the halves. In an ideal world obviously, they don’t grow on trees!

Agree but it has to be the right players. Any possibility of sending Brookes, Ince or Holroyde out on loan to free up money possibly. If Evans gone definitely need a centre and half back. A 3 month loan be nice until Gilmore and Max Roberts are fit to play.
Joe Lyons has improved this season to be fair to the lad, so I think he probably does deserve a run.
Made a big difference again to have 4 solid props and I thought we opened up a bit more in attack, wingers look dangerous again.
Wasn't expecting that sort of margin, been a long time since we convincingly beat a decent side like that.

Got to agree Lyons played quite well. He is improving but I like him to take the line on more though.
Amazes me how some people only post negative comments
