Bradford beat Toulouse and we should have beaten Bradford last week, which suggests this game is still very much in the air.
We haven't beaten a good team at home for a while, need to start.
Is it just me seeing the injury update with no JJ mentioned hoping he could be fit, making a bigger difference?
Fonua and Matangi from Cas both playing for Fax on Monday, dual reg played in Cas loss last week. 2 good players on the wing and prop. The odds have just taken a swing in Fax's favour.
I thoroughly agree we need at least a level playing field especially with 4 of our squad out, 2 long term injured. I cannot see our link up with Rochdale being of any use to us. I thought we would struggle to win against Halifax before they had this strengthening.
I am not sure of the rules, are we allowed a link up with another club in the SL having one already with Rochdale? Whatever we need a ball playing half back now Gilmore is out up to 5 months.
It is now 19.30 on Saturday & still no squad announced.
It always seems later than our opponents' squad announcement.Don't know why.It is now 19.30 on Saturday & still no squad announced.
Cant see anything other than us getting battered ...truly hope I'm wrong but personally think fax will murder us out wide... walmsley n maizen one side ..probably fonua and saltonstall the other ...massive reality check imminent ...
It is now 19.30 on Saturday & still no squad announced.
Now 9.24 am on Sunday, no squad yet.
Does anyone know, what is the latest time by which a club must announce it's squad and what happens to it if it is late?
Just curious...
@sunny I assume that as long as the RFL and our opponents are notified in good time then that's OK.Not sure what the big secret is by keeping it from public for as long as possible.
The club have posted on Facebook and Instagram this morning. One post saying it's not to late to buy a ticket and also a video clip showing our best recent moments vs Halifax.
With yesterday's injury update, which was useful as people had been asking about Farnworth I'm not sure why we haven't posted the team, as we now pretty much know who is out.
JJ was 3-4 weeks with a shoulder injury and it's been 3 weeks so I guess he's an outside chance? Other than that I'm guessing it's the same 21 as last week? If we wanted to change it up we have Ince on the wing, Evans at centre and Wilde in the 2nd row who have been making the 21 but not the final 17.
Heard Evans has left the club.
He's not in the 21 man squad, no mention of him being injured. It would be a strange one. Hopefully not as Roberts has just been ruled out for most of the season so we need him.
I thought Kear said in pre season what a tight knit group the players were. If this is true it is the second one to jump ship. As regards Johnson I did not rate him but we are very low now on centre cover.
Fax have named squad numbers 1-16 plus Doro at 21, plus Fonua and Matangi on dual reg. They are going to have to decide which 2 players to leave out.
Heard Evans has left the club.
well that would be a bit of a shock and a blow, if true leaves us very exposed in the backs

Probably worth noting that squads usually get posted on the RFL website match centre page, even these can be a bit hit-and-miss but it's usually worth a look if a club is late posting their squad.

Feeling even less confident today than weekend. My prediction of Halifax by 14 seems a bit generous to Widnes. Any single bets anywhere ?
