Hoping the resilience showed against Keighley, when they pulled it back to 18 all, (ignoring how hey opened us up!!!) will stand us is good stead. Its one of those "any kind of win" will do, games!

They haven’t done much so far, lost by 24 to Featherstone and only beat London by 8 at home.
I think it will be close, and a narrow win for Widnes.

I’d bring in Ince for Dixon.

Dixon was alright for the first 2 games, but poor last week. Missed a kick (albeit out wide), came shooting out when he didn’t need which led to a try and then knocked on under a high ball which led to their try off the scrum in the last minute.

Expecting another dour game, nothing has changed we still get loads of sets in our opponents 20 or even 10 and are clueless in attack. A playmaking halfback is a must, Owens need to up his game and lead by example never a captain, maybe this hinders his game. This a game to be won but this is Widnes we are watching so expect the unexpected.

Well. hopefully, we will have Lawton available, who we didn't have against Keighley and Grady has been one of our most effective runners. If we can get them into the game without telegraphing the passes to them, that should give us a bit of strike power. Likewise the much maligned Lyons' miss passes to Millar and Millar's finishing, won us the Keighley game. So we are not without hope, no doubt it will be a bit of a slug fest. It would be nice to think our threequarters can get more involved in attack rather than just taking the ball up, but getting a win is the most important thing!

The unexpected would be a comfortable home win by 18 points or more so I think that can be ruled out.It will be the expected.

I think it will be a close game . We will match them in the forwards but that creative link with the backs is missing. Our spine of Owens, Craven, Lyons, Foz and bent is workman like but can it work together to unlock a defence? A ball playing 13 would really help . Does bent ever pass? I going for Widnes by 4 😬 😬

I think it will be close. Would like to be predicting a Widnes win but percentage call for me is Halifax by about 6. Hopefully I’ll be wrong.

I'm confident that we can win, Halifax are a good side (are they the only team coached by 2 brothers?) which contains some familiar faces to us.

But I think that JK will put out a side that will have been grilled about not making silly mistakes, and we will grind out a win in what I expect to be an unexciting game of RL.

Someone moaned the other day about Bent not passing the ball. Absolutely true, but he looks stronger this year and now makes his ten metres virtually every carry. So he has progressed from a tackler to a tackler and metre maker.

A ball playing loose forward would be nice but he'll do for the moment.

Fonua and Matangi from Cas both playing for Fax on Monday, dual reg played in Cas loss last week. 2 good players on the wing and prop. The odds have just taken a swing in Fax's favour.

@dan1 I am starting to disagree with the dual reg system as it makes a bit of a mockery of the championship. It can influence results. I think it should be a short or long term loan, minimum of 5 games or season long loans

Starting?! It’s been a farce since day one. I’d rather lose playing all Widnes lads then Widnes giving game time to Super League players.

That time Patton, Mamo etc came from Wire was a joke.
