First real test of the season this week at Halifax - one of my favourite grounds to visit. Just ordered my tickets, £20 for adult and child, better value than Widnes.
Hopefully we take a good crowd over to cheer the lads on to what would be a big statement if we can win.
I agree this will show where we are at the moment. It is very early days but the result could indicate whether we will be competing for a top 3/4 place or a lower spot in the top 6. Before the season started I thought it would be a battle but that we would just sneak in at 6.
The only concern is our defence when opponents are in our 20 metre area. If we play as we have done in first 2 games we should be ok. Halifax will be really up for this though having lost away at Batley in round one.
Looking forward to this. A real test and a 2 points on offer which will really boost the play off hopes towards the end of the year. 3 games in, i know how ridiculous that sounds but they'll soon add up. Lets get it done
Long train journey for me but always enjoyed Halifax.
WID > Manchester OXF RD
Walk to Manchester Victoria
replacement bus to rochdale
Rochdale > Halifax direct

Got mine for £17 are you sitting ?
All about getting into the winning habit. Will test our defence though.
One place where the toss matters I reckon. Probably better down the hill first half? Moore is a canny kicker too!

Adult and child is £20
Although i wouldnt necessarily say its better value than Widnes Widiot, we will be standing behind the sticks at fax, as opposed to sitting on the side line at Widnes.

Wrong ground mate no slope.
Huge game. Recent form gives us the edge though it’s not an easy place to win and our poor record in Yorkshire gives me nagging doubts. I’d have had Fax favourites to win this before the season kicked off but we have to look at it as a good opportunity to consolidate our strong start to the season. Expect it to be close, hopefully we can shade it.
It appears Levy is in the squad. He’s passed the test so let’s hope for a big effort from the lad👍👍🏉🏉
Levy in for Bent.
Yes first stiff test but looking at the last 2 games I think if we perform the same we can win it
interesting to see if lezy makes the 17 as doro is still with us.also Brooke’s or Holroyd ?

What is interesting is we all expected Levy to miss a good chunk of the season so being part of the squad after two games is a real added bonus. Personally I would leave him an other week and let him loose at Dewsbury the week after. 👍👍
@sandgroper you have me confused there is no slope, Mount Pleasant has a slope though.
I would call Fax a competent, professional team rather than a flair team.
I we are strong enough in the pack, both in defence and attack, I think we have enough in the backs to come away with the points, but in my opinion, this game will be won or lost through the middle and I am hoping that this years squad has enough in the pack to stand tall and hold off the Fax pack.
As has been said, this could well be an indicator of what to expect this season.
One thing I am sure we will get is a strong rendition of their favourite song, which has only one word which is imaginatively "yorkshire".
