One must congratulate @pascal for having the intelligence and the language skills to spell Finnigan correctly. It's amazing the amount of disrespectful people on here that can't be arsed spell checking their posts.

Well done to our resident French person.

Paulie xx

It’s going to be a long season isn’t it ?

I love the idea that the coach needs a mentor.

Surely we should have a coach who is capable of being a mentor for those around him ?

What’s the point of having a person described as the coach if he can’t actually coach ?

last year (and the year before) we were bullied out of games by bigger sets of forwards who, to use an old phrase, ‘got stuck in’. I don’t see what’s changed this season. The names may have changed but the problems remain the same. We finished mid-table last season where do you think we will finish this season ?

Mid-Table again. But 6th is mid-table and that would be considered a decent season with Play Off qualification.

I just get a bit baffled by some of the thinking. Non use of Subs, no Hookers on the bench, dropping Roby completely.

I suppose the question is who is there to offer different thinking within the set-up at the moment?

Didn't Roby get injured in training?

@cj91 That’s the point though isn’t it - the coach should have a Plan B and Plan C. I think one of our major problems is that we don’t have the option of a plan A which would be a group of forwards that can muscle up. Not being able to do that means anything else we do is, often as not, not going to work because we don’t have control of games.

@royston-vasey this is exactly what we need to do, have plan a plan b and plan c

play to our strengths rather than up the middle stuff with a much lighter pack

using wings and centres on plays 1&2 is ok if you have lads like ah van on the wing backed up by a big centre to give the forwards a rest but we don’t have that. We need to add more options going forward to make the opposite pack think more and work harder

Having lads on the bench and not playing them is rediculous, give tilleke a run out and have a back up hooker on the bench would give fozzard the chance to do a bit more but when he knows he is playing for 80 minutes he has to pace himself and with opposite forwards targeting him early they know he’ll get tired

@royston-vasey

Yeah don't disagree on the point that Plan A should be a bigger pack, but we have been saying that for years and it has never materialised.

Didn't know that Roby was unfit, but the other points about use of subs I think are valid.

No, he was dropped.

The recent “team talk” from the club said he missed the game due to injury.
