Thought Fev got their tactics spot on today, aided by poor execution from us and probably deserved the victory. I can't believe that anyone would be blaming the official for us losing the game.
Like I said, we 'bombed' enough chances to win 2 games. Maybe poor options or lack of composure, but it was down to us, we were given enough penalties and '6 agains' by the Ref. Not his fault.

An odd game.
Not sure you’ll see an uglier win than that for Featherstone. They offered absolutely nothing in attack. Didn’t even half a chance. But credit to their defence; well drilled, slowed it down and frustrated us.
It’s hard to be too critical to us. We created chances- had 3 disallowed first half and Butt dropped one with the line begging. We just couldn’t finish the chances off.
Big game against Sheffield in two weeks
Certainly an odd game for this season. Very clunky in attack, with several chances bombed on their line in both halves, although the Fev defence was as good as our attack was below par today. The game really boiled down to the interception and the Fleming disallowed try in the first half, and was a very tight affair. They seemed to be the stronger more powerful side for me, but if our execution would have been better we would have been over for 4 or 5 tries, whereas they rarely threatened our line. One of those days.
Well can't blame the ref they had tactics to slow us down with big players. All we had to do is move the ball around and I feel there needs to be competition for places at fullback and half back. Big miss Fozzard.
I agree with you Pascal, Fozard was definitely missed.
Featherstone are a big, experienced side and they knew what they were doing. We probably weren't as coherent as recent weeks and will also have missed Wilde and Lloyd. All of that couldn't be helped, as with the Ref's performance, but we do panic or go for the big play when under pressure and it isn't the first time this season we have done this. We seem to be very confident in defence, but less confident in keeping their defence under pressure. Difficult when Featherstone were slowing the ptb down though.
We have become more dogged this season, and can hang on in games, which is much better than recent years, but for me, we need to become less generous and more ruthless when we have the ball.
Wakefield next, and whilst losing to Featherstone was an opportunity missed, we just have to forget about it and show up next Sunday.

Spot on mate we are definitely more rugged and play for the shirt. Need more composure and less panicking. I don't see us winning at Wakefield I have written it off. Let's beat Sheffield and back to winning ways. 👍
Do we know why Fozzard didn't play?
He did the warm up and was 18th man??

I don’t think anyone is blaming the ref for us loosing I think for once we can all agree that we was poor in attack however people are just pointing out some of the awful decisions he made which looking back at them now could’ve completely changed the game Fev should’ve had 12 men for starters and the flem/ince try should’ve stood that would’ve been 6-0 and 12-0 respectively and a completely different game.
Interesting to see how different fans see things differently!
From Fev fans' POV that was an heroic defensive performance under plenty of adversity.
I think a lot of Fev fans are quite amused by Coleman's bitter and sulky post-game interview. Every time Fev have lost this yearJames Ford has started his interview by giving credit to the opposition, but not only did Coleman fail to acknowledge in any way Fev's defensive effort, he was downright disrespectful, referring to Fev as "these" and claiming that he knows Widnes are the better team.
No half-decent coach would try and make claims like that when you've just lost, let alone been nilled at home, because you just look very foolish and petulant. I realise he's trying to play to the gallery and was frustrated but he just comes across as a very small man on that interview.
I see Morgan Knowles has just got a 2 match ban for head contact. Wonder how many Springer will get.
As JohnG commented, but for poor decisions by the Officials we would have been 12-0 up and playing against 12 men.
But we weren't.
As an aside - does anyone know how two yellows for the same player is dealt with?
What is your opinion of the Ince/Fleming decisions, and Springer not getting a red card for his hit on Fleming's head?
This is rugby league not soccer, two separate yellow cards do not make a red card.
Embarrassing interview from the coach.

Fleming decision I get why Widnes fans feel aggrieved. It's hard to tell from the video whether the tackler just caused an error or if he touched the ball. I think bizarrely if he'd awarded a Fev scrum rather than a Widnes one it would have been less controversial.
Springer...I thought he hit his chest myself, but again it's hard to tell really. But I think it was a yellow anyway as he didn't wrap with his left arm so classes as a shoulder charge.
Ince decision...that's really straightforward for me Lannon ploughed into Bussey and completely took him out, clear penalty, we lost our home game against Swinton to a last minute penalty for the same offence.
But moreover...it looked like he caught Bussey on the head with either his elbow or shoulder...but nobody seems to be talking about whether Lannon should have got a red card.
Correction, it was Addy not Bussey who was taken out in the Ince incident.
I blame Featherstone. It was their fault for beating us.
