Ellis Robson recalled

“I am really excited to be here – Bradford is a massive club I always followed them in my childhood and it is a really good opportunity for me to put some good performances in and work under John Kear,” said Robson. This is a quote from the Bradford web site announcing Robson’s loan signing. I think people are putting a slant on comments to suit their own narrative. He also said this about his time at Widnes: “I have very high respect for everyone at Widnes as they are a great club.” People seem to overlook this comment. Maybe the fact is that Warrington and possibly Robson wanted a full time training environment that he will get at Bradford. Bad loss for Widnes and good signing for Bradford. Let’s move on.

I don’t know how he’ll get a full time environment when only some players are full time. Big load of balls from him/Warrington

Own narrative 😂😂

Honestly, let's get this straight, we arent a good team. We have become dependent on our biggest rivals for loan players. One of those lone players has either been removed or gone because we arent any good.

Forgive me for not being overjoyed.

Pretty well any player changing clubs, on loan or permanent will say similar things about the club (Danny Walker for instance). There are so many moving parts atm. Elite Academies being denied to top SL clubs, decisions about what will be allocated to Championship clubs etc, will there be P/R after Toulouse are promoted?

Are we sure that Bradford isn't paying Robson's contract in full? They may have cash to spare with no Academy to run, who knows?

The priority for our board will be financial security at almost any price. They quoted a four year plan, scoffed at by the financial whizz kids on this board who would have us atop the Championship instantly, but sadly didn't have enough personal financial security to join the board! That would require a Khoukash or similar and that we haven't got.

Anything less than security would truly be a disaster and see the club disappear forever.

Covid has complicated many things including player interchanges, and that will be true for most, if not all, of this season. Trying to get around the rules for that as well as the RFL is a nightmare. As restrictions lift normality in some form will return but realistically survival has to be secured.

Next year will see a different financial scenario for the game and until we know what that is going to be making big decisions will be impossible

How many of the current squads of Rochdale, Swinton and Oldham are better than what we have? That’s before you consider that being a top earner at one of those three will more than likely earn you more money than being a squad player at Widnes. I’ve had a quick look at their squads. Swinton: Luke Waterworth (while Tomkins injured), Martyn Ridyard (aging half-back pair with Smith!), Lewis Hatton (out for season injured) Oldham: Ben Heaton, Ryan Ince, Gareth Owen, Danny Langtree Rochdale: Sean Penkywicz (nearly 40, only because Tomkins injured), Gavin Bennion, Lewis Galbraith (just joined Rochdale for a fee from Batley)

It’s no coincidence that Swinton have fell apart since Lewis Hatton got injured. He brings so much pace and energy to the middles. Real shame as he was superb at the start of the season.  Luke Waterworth is a class half back too. We look disjointed in our attack when he’s resting on the bench.

Subject to our financial position – and if we can retain the current fan base – we are probably in a better position than other Championship clubs and could offer better contracts to attract players.

What is the current fan base ?Nobody knows yet.The number of season tickets sold is top secret and the last gate we got was only around 2600 in March 2020.Cant see  crowds being any higher given current form.

I was in the market yesterday picking up our season tickets and had a chat with the staff. Our number was “746” but we have four tickets on that one number and most people have bought two or more season tickets on their one number therefore it was estimated at 1700 but other staff were told it was nearer 2000. Not a bad number for us and consider that most championship clubs don’t get near that for attendances. Bradford aside.👍👍

How do you know everyone who bought a season ticket bought two or more??

Why do people on this forum just drag random numbers out of thin air and take it as a given 🤔
