I would have hall in there from the start and bring on the big guns as the game goes on
really hoping for a good performance
onwards and upwards
Minibus is gonna be rocking on the way back...... Must be tough watching a once famous club getting spanked at home to the likes of Oldham and Doncaster..... Waiting for the typical scouse reply crying about the ref (even though the penalty count was massively in your favour)...... I'd desert the sinking ship just like thousands of others have and get yourself down to whitehaven..... OVER AND OUT......@comeonyoudons luckily your a Doncaster fan pal and a crayon could draw a thicker line ...but as a top bloke I will absolutely not take the pee out of your downstairs disability...tbh being hung like a church mouse is still more empowering than not filling a seat Leon Widnes bound on a wednesday night ...luckily we'll have the last laugh nearly bagging a hundred quid in away purchases....pahahaha
We need Lawton on the field against Doncaster. On a separate note I would rather Widnes win than England. Preferably both of course!
Why....he was as ever awful
Along with the rest of the old guard.......Gilmore,Owens...somebody tell him a centre is suppopsed to run straight not just stop and make space not squeeze it...Ince...trundle in ,compare with the Dons wingers running the ball out from their line.....
Suppose we can`t get anyone else to play for us.
Was a real depressing bump back down to earth last night.
Distracted by the England game I still screeched in with 10mins to kick off to a deafening silence from the concourse… as I got into the South stand, no music, no crowd (!), no ramblings from Sean Mellor… what with the PA being fooked, no scoreboard and scaffolding, sparse crowd, no Tim buzzing round the place, chill settling in and of course the abject performance… I was taken back to the days when Naughton Park was being demolished and we were all herded into the Lowerhouse Lane end to watch the god awful team of that era.
A step backwards.
@johnnyboy I have to agree with everything you say though I was in the North Stand, so maybe a bit more lively, but still very quiet. The PA is a disgrace, I understand its down to the council not the club, but it still reflects badly on the club, as does the state of the west stand with no scoreboard or clock. The overall match day experience was absolutely woeful last night even disregarding the performance and result.
I feel like the writing is on the wall for the club and it isn't nice reading 🤨 🤨
@comeonyoudons - I'm neither Chemic nor Don, but some of your posts (like the "Scouse" one) are a bit OTT in my opinion!
You support a good team, and you stuffed us good and proper at your gaff, but you (again in my opinion) seem to be lacking in the humility stakes!
This (as I've said many times) is RL's best message-board, but your comments (once more IMO) do it no favours!
Come and have a word on 19 July. I'm easy to spot, coz I don't hide behind a non-de-plume!
Spelly.
The game v Oldham ,Widnes were competitive up to around 50 mins ...remenber they were 12 down at HT and scored so 6 12 but then the next score being vital...error...Oldham score game over.........at least effort was shown..Oldham were just a bit better all round.
Yesterday....we were on the back foot from the KO.....error...the player collects kick and then passes to another who loses it .Why pass...drive in don`t put a teammate under pressure.Nearly every time we collected a kick the player waited for someone else...why?
The error count in the first 10 mins was running at 1 a min.....shocking
There seems to be a lack confidence and a nobody wants to take responsabiity.....just get rid let someone else make the error......
Now I know Dons had better players....so did Leeds in the cup but at least we made them work and I think it was the closest contest of the SL v Champ games.
Leadership on the field is totally non existent............................
The length of field try they scored.......total farce.
Did the last 30 mins Oldham game shatter a fragile confidence...
There was no determination ...we must not let that happen again mindset......it was the opposite ,started where they left off....................
I don`t know...can you set up not to lose in the first instance and see what happens and go forward with a plan from there?...in football you can and do all the time.As they say you can`t win a game in the first 15 mins but you can lose it....that`s what Widnes did yesterday. The pattern was set Widnes deflated Dons confident......
I keep reading that we have good players but why do they make so many basic errors.
Are there too many just going through the motions and collecting a few quid ????
All the squad are not going anywhere in the game...so is complacency rife ????
I know there are complaints about youngsters from SL on loan or whatever but at least they are younger keener more talented and have a future...and it shows.
If as some say the Championship becomes a feeder league at least we will see some talent not a lot of old deadbeats who just play the same error ridden way every game...just a thought....

Spelly hopefully you can watch Widnes in the final. Join me for a pint and this Dons fan is just a clown looking for a reaction. 😂🙈 Hope you are well mate we definitely need Coleman to improve his squad selections against the top sides.

I am the tops mate, thank you, and trust you and yours are similar!
Quick ride up the A57 for me, so will be there no worries, but not had a drink for over 16 years. Black coffee is my tipple!
With huge respect to nos amis de la Fumée, and you mob too, it's not gonna be anywhere near full. My mate from down there is on a coach, so he'll be there. I'll go for a 5,000 max crowd, and as I mentioned on another thread, I don't think we'll be having any more 1895s after this one.
Whilst it's every player, and fan's dream to be in that little corner of Middlesex, playing it after the main game, was almost an insult to the teams involved!
As regards the Donny fan / attention seeker, I notice he hasn't (or hadn't last time I checked) replied to my post!

It’s become obvious that we haven’t really improved the playing squad we’re playing against league 1 teams and getting good results but still around 5th in championship as a team. The final is different because it’s a one off so 🤞

Nice one Spelly I expect us to lose, but be nice to meet for a brew or beer my good friend. You have my number already and your a Widnes fan for the day. 😂👌 I do not expect many due to our form too and expecting to lose.
With regard to the Doncaster game _ I thought selection was crap
where was mcwhirter - one of our best players and a unit
recent games we have lost are against a bigger pack, whilst our number 10 (prop) who is not a prop , plays well in defence, but in attack he can hardly get through a paper bag.
you have to meet size with size
this week goole are in town, which we should win by a country mile, however we are short in the centres, is roberts coming back there ?
time to see Sergent play a game, if he doesn’t play today, his signing is pointless
I have just seen the tries just looks like knowles powers away with a good offload, halfbacks kicking behind degence well and Gebbie again with lots of speed doing us again. I was not there to comment but it seems again the lack of size and creativity lacking against the best sides.Without Edge we struggle in the centres so definetly need strong squad at centre. Halfbacks too similar non with a great running game and Max Roberts far too small in the back row. JJ better at 9 not at 13 against big teams.
