@viking25 Grady definitely showed up but I think are move “ pass it to Grady and see what he can do” is a little old now and team have certainly become wise to it. We could’ve ran at dewsbury all day and still not scored

I’m not buying into all these comments about the board and the coach and will say that I think they are doing a good job. Yes, yesterday was a massive defeat and a massive set-back for the season which will damage our aspirations for next season too due to reduced income, but yesterday was one game. I would hope that JK will point out the impact of the players shortcomings yesterday and make his feelings and disappointment very clear.

I don’t think it’s been mentioned here but on twitter it was reported by James (ex-Flash) that JK had said post game that he would be looking to bring players in on loan this week, which in itself sends a message to our team that he has lost faith in some of them.

I saw the interview and it seems he has either lost the whole dressing room or realises some of them are not good enough. He definitely needs some players who will be committed and hopefully several players are signed. The dead wood can leave next year and Johnstone, Hatton, Davies, Craven and Gilmore are a miss. I also add a half back, centre and a prop on loan. Kear was not happy in the back up play and unfortunately Farnworth is rusty at the moment.

Let's be realistic we wont' be changing the coach anytime soon.  It's a massive set back particularly with the 1895 Cup in mind and a potential decent route to the next round after this one.

I've said before that Kear isn't a very tactical coach, he's a motivator - which is way a performance like yesterday is so disappointing.

One thing not mentioned is that tactically,  Ryan O'Brien did a lot of work in this area and he's obviously left now, so this is a loss.  Still, we should have enough to beat any League One side.  Reinforcements needed asap.

It was said weeks ago that the club were 'actively looking'.Their own words. So what's changed now ? Unless they weren't really looking at that time.

I wonder if looking to SL for talent is the way to go? We were hammered by a very plain bunch of lads with fire in their belly, not brilliantly skilful but totally committed.

Our 'locals' maybe individually skilled but rarely put all together.

For me the two genuine forward breaks from Ant Walker were a real indication of our lack of support and sharpness, without it we are dead meat. If the pre-game banter was anything like the true attitude of mind we might as well put the cue on the rack now, stop travelling support and save our pennies!!!!!

Has Chris Hamilton brought anything with him? Maybe our only hope.

Regarding JK and his connection with the team, someone telling you what maybe the plain unadulterated truth may upset you, but it doesn't make the truth wrong, and that is what the lads need to accept. Like him or not JK has the respect of better players than we can afford and he may be dated but he knows the game and probably agrees with many sentiments on this board tbh.

Watching that game again will hurt, or it should do if you are a player! They were walked all over by a bunch of under rated lads with a real hunger for the game - end of!!!

Get over it and make sure that it doesn't happen again

One game really it's been year upon year, the blame lies with the board then the coach they are in charge.

To put things in perspective this is one of our worst all time defeats in the challenge cup in my time of watching them it is on par with Oldham at home in the late 80,s early 90's and Toulouse away when the wire fans came dressed as frenchmen at our place to take the piss.

Another poster said earlier we are now in this position for good so lets enjoy watching entertaining RL win or lose as thats all we have, agree 100% with that but under this set up we will be playing in front of a few hundred fans next year if nothing gives.

Whilst I agree we were rubbish yesterday, I don’t think there’s any point in sacking Kear.
Some people are saying that the club is short of money, so what would be the point in sacking Kear and having to pay off his contract and then look for another coach, who is available to take over straight away, and then paying him a contract as well?
It’s not like we’re going to get promoted or get relegated, we’ll just have to hope Kear/ and or the players can turn it around and start playing well again.

As has been said by one or two previously little point in sacking Kear & paying off his contract right now. The players will know that was not good enough  but let us be honest our side yesterday was weak & completely unbalanced. Of course we should have still won but we are where we are.

Kear has said he is going to phone around SL clubs but doubt many will want to release players over the testing Easter period.

As regards Tilleke & Holroyd if Kear is not going to use them we may as well offer them to Rochdale or other clubs if they do not want them.

I do strongly think though Kear should give the goal kicking to Edge & tell Jack straight about this & I do not think being  captain helps his game. Fozard or JJ or Grady may be options.

I expect a reaction at Swinton & hope to be there.
