From the official website, Chris price is stepping down as chairman and from the board of directors with immediate effect.
Don’t know the ins and outs of these things but can’t read else into it that isn’t concerning me
Bad news.
Deserves massive praise.
Another reason to be concerned about the future…
On the face of it this is concerning however could be an opportunity to seek fresh investment
I think this is worrying. Thank you though Chris & family for your time and help when it was need the most.
He said: “Commitments away from the club mean that I do not have the time to continue. I will leave the club that means so much to me I’m a very proud Widnesian and honoured to have served Widnes Vikings.
There is nothing else to read into it, he has other commitments outside the club. Thanks for everything Chris. Stay safe👍👍

Exactly plus said still sponsoring the club and supporting them. 👌💪👍
Most businesses are having a hard time atm and that must come first, if that is the reason.
Likewise many things outside the club or the game can create an emergency that is nobody else's business.
He was and still is a first rate supporter when it matters.
Seems slightly strange timing but we don't know the ins and outs.
1. Why with immediate effect rather that at the end of the season with less than 2 months to go?
2. If work commitments too much why not hand over the chair but stay on the board in a less involved hands on roll and let Chris Hamilton and the new chairman run things?
It could be any reason though so thanks for the effort over the last 4 years.
I have known Chris for a long time - attending matches with him through the 90's. I am sure this is nothing more than external commitments.
Top bloke and should be commended for all he has done - running what in essence is two businesses at the same time must have been hard work.
Stuart Murphy new Chairman- good luck to him.
Interesting line at the bottom of the article saying there had been contact about investment since Chris Price resigned, could hopefully be promising.
