Challenge cup draw

Could not ask for better draws really for both rounds.

Really?! I'm sure the club would have preferred a home tie or an away one a lot closer to home in round one.

West Wales v Widnes is the stand out tie of the round for the BBC. While Featherstone v Bradford might be the best game, in terms of the 'headlines' and potential to grab attention, I would be surprised if our game isn't selected.

Worth noting that it will be online or red button, rather than on main channels.

50-1 Sheffield is ludicrously high. Even with a tough draw.

Will we get any money with the BBC showing it?

Change in kick off time surely means an overnight stay now?

I don’t think we will have to stop overnight, it’s about a 3 1/2 hour drive, so we could leave at 7-30 in the morning and be there over an hour and a half before kick off .

Yes according to the AA route planner.

Did the route planner not tell you that there is a raging pandemic,

Yes, when I wrote we, I meant the team, not the fans. But hopefully by the time of our first home league game, we will be able to have fans watching again, perhaps up to 4,000.

Yes afraid it’s probably too optimistic for crowds in April, May a possibility

however a great start as we can watch the first game for sure, and if we win and ST are out the second game too. Followed by the third streamed

cant wait for season to start now 28 days and counting !

Is the 1895 really worth it this season?

Especially for the sake of a few extra thousand who may or may not be allowed back into Wembley by mid-July?

Assuming we get through against West Wales, a match against Dewsbury or Whitehaven is good preparation for the match at Newcastle, which has to be the priority.

Are we playing any friendlies?

I don't know when fans will be allowed in, hopefully late April or early May in limited numbers. But shops are opening at the end of March.

The government are not planning on opening up shops and hospitality until 31st may and your expecting up to 4000 fans in April 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

if you look you will see I said hopefully, but unfortunately, unlike you, I don’t know what Boris is going to announce on Monday. The newspapers are saying shops could be opening and outdoor sports starting in March/April . But seeing as you know better, perhaps you can give everyone an exclusive  on what else he will announce on Monday!!

We aren't in a position to not try to win every match, no matter what the competition. Our aim must be to get a reputation so that no team wants to play us!! It will take time and I hope that Simon has enough Aussie bite to get that over to his team! A loss against West Wales would be a disaster tbh.

I agree that we should be aiming to win every time, but ultimately we cannot win the Challenge Cup, yet we can have a good league season.

It is 5 years since we last had a good league season for various reasons: for me it is absolutely imperative that we prioritise that above all else.

But you are right to say that if we lose to West Wales, it would be a nightmare start for SF.
