It was a great team performance and all deserved a mention from 1 through to 17. Glad to see some different ideas and plays with little mistakes which I think was the biggest bonus for us as well as the discipline. Thought Fozzard had a good game as did both our half’s with a decent kicking game. Dixon is also special, really gives his all. Now stand by for twelve pages of how good we were…….

I don’t think we were amazing, I’d say it’s an improvement which was needed. I’d say Bradford played poorly and allowed us to play better

id say the players are starting to play as a team and for the jersey. They realize they are playing for their contract next season and I’d say quite a lot of them could be shown the door from this season’s performances

hopefully they can turn it around and make the playoffs but im not holding my breath.

look im happy with the win and the players showed they can play better than we have seen but I didn’t see any signs of a team challenging for the championship

Really enjoyed that a good game of open rugby from both sides. Congratulations to Belshaw & all the players for that performance.

Those who stayed away missed a treat.

COYV back it up now at Keighley.

I also would have given Edge the MOM award and would keep him at FB.

Davies at loose was good as well, ran hard, Dixon great on the wing. Tilleke gave his all and didn't look out of place and it was good having 3 props on the bench to rotate with the 2 props and loose forward.  I thought Farnworth and Walker lifted us when they came on.

I assume Hatton and Miller injured or they would have featured?

Bradford not great but when you look through that side they have a lot of players that have recently played SL.

Such dirty tactics from Bratfud too. A few players lucky to be on the field still for all the head shots (if there was vid ref and screen like SL). Played just the right tactics for the game. In recent weeks we’d have dropped our heads and allowed them to run away with it. Well done all and to the coach. Onto Keighley. We go again.

I thought we played well, and carried on playing like they did in the final hour against Toulouse, trying to keep the ball alive and taking chances, not everyone comes off, but a lot did, and is a lot better than the safety first 5 drives and a kick that we were doing under Kear. I thought Dixon was MOM, he was all over the pitch looking for the ball, as well as tackling well, but Edge and Lawton both ran him close. Don’t think there was a bad player tonight, even Walker played quite well!
Id make Owens wait , when he’s fit, for someone to have a bad game, before picking him .

Make Owens wait? He seems like a nice lad and he's been a decent servant over the years, but I'm afraid the time has come for both him and Craven. Both superb players and loyal servants, but we are much beater without both of them.

Not often I do this but the ref had a good game - watching it on TV pretty well all his calls were right! Except for the trip that stopped Ollie Davies try!

What a signing Dixon has been!!! I doubted it but he is a 100% player!!!

But a lot of credit must go to Gilly for decisions and game plan. Fozzy maybe part of that of course - whoever it is well done!!!!

And what a night for our 'squad' players who wouldn't normally get a look in!!! That shows you what we have in the  player bank - Use 'em!!!!!!!!

I thought Gilly and Lyons played well last night, very organised and composed. I think I'd leave Edge at fullback and Owens at centre, and that's only when Roberts or Fleming are injured.

I think Belshaw deserves leaving in place until the end of the season going on the last two games, by the way who is he?

Easy to praise the ref after a win 😂

Agree about Owens, more of a hindrance these days.Craven too. When fit let them both be reserves until needed.

Couldn't agree more. Seen some posts recently using their absences as reasons for our poor form. I think they've both had their day and maybe picking people on merit rather than reputation will help the team.

Better performance tonight, Fozzard MOM for me. If only Lawton could play every game like he played that first half last night, he'd be a hell of a player.

No-one seems to have specifically mentioned Forber - I thought he slotted in well considering he has hardly trained with the squad, gave Fozard a well earned rest and will be a good loan signing for us.

First time in a while I've left the ground having enjoyed a game.  Bradford getting a lot of criticism on social media rather than Widnes getting praise, but that's fine.

No one player had a bad game, putting in a shift is a minimal requirement in rugby league and everyone did it.  Bradford are a much bigger side than we are and we coped with it well.  They don't have a lot of skill outside their half backs.

Edge stays at full back.  Owens is third in the full back pecking order for me now behind Edge first and then Fleming.  Lyons running game much better last night and Gilmore's organisational skills were key.  Fozard probably the player of the season for me, does so much work unnoticed.

I see we're up against the new coach scenario against Keighley this weekend who have announced their new head coach.  We should have more than enough for them and then Haven at home.  Lets not get carried away but Widnes should ALWAYS be looking up and not down.

Wow joe edge has done in one game what jack owens hasn’t done for 2 years and that is play well, extremely well at fullback, great kick returns and attacking presence much better than owens. And forber his passing is excellent quick and hits the man everytime got us on the front foot.

@sunny

Noticed on the TV that him and Fozzie were nattering and Fozzie giving Forber positive nods etc! Forber could learn a lot from Fozzie which is quite possibly why he's with us!
