Not a bad draw . Batley aren’t as good away from home, and they’ve got a tough match at Sheffield next week, while we will have a rest.

Being played on the Saturday at 6.00.

Presumably to avoid a clash with Liverpool v Man City?

The club can confirm that our Challenge Cup fifth round fixture against Batley Bulldogs at the DCBL Stadium will take place on Saturday, 9 March with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.

Tickets for the fixture will be available from 9am tomorrow, with Karalius Suite hospitality also available.

When tickets go live, fans can get their tickets HERE

Away fans’ tickets will be available HERE

Fans can also purchase tickets from the club shop in Widnes Market from tomorrow.

The game has not been selected for TV coverage.

Head of Operations Chris Hamilton said: “We have listened to fans and avoided what was a big family day with Mothers Day as well as some big sporting events on the Sunday.

“In addition, we are conscious of the cost to fans of games that are not covered by season tickets. Therefore, by discounting tickets, we hope to try and get as many people to the DCBL stadium to cheer on the team.

“We believe the 6pm kick-off will also tick boxes with a lot of people and we know fans are looking forward to a game under the lights.”

He added: “Allan Coleman and the lads are excited to be playing at a later time, as night matches always generate extra excitement.

“It will also give both teams more time to prepare for the first league game of the season the following weekend.

“We hope, following the excellent win at Bradford in the last round, that we can get the loyal Vikings fans to come and get behind the team as both clubs fight for the chance to draw a Super League club in the next round.”

A good ticket price for a Saturday evening Cup game. I'm hoping for a crowd around 2,250.

IMHO Batley aren't a better team than us and we will have home advantage, so 5th round here we come!

Not a good time for me, would much prefer it to be on Sunday .
Children could have taken their mothers to the match and book a meal at the stadium for them!!

I.E. we completely fudged up for the Doncaster game by being greedy and over pricing tickets resulting in the lowest ever crowd.........

Like the ticket prices, something a lot of people have been asking for. Wonder if this is down to MT?

Matt does listen to fans and hopefully people will gradually come back and support their club and Town. Engaging with the local community, and the amateur rugby league clubs is a big thing to do for the people of Widnes. The young amateur teams are also very important.

Good to see sensible ticket pricing for the juniors. Likewise as long as adults are £20 or lower, then that's fine. Should never be more than a fiver for an U16 to watch a game of rugby league, especially in grounds that are more than 50% empty.
