Sad state of play with this Leeds game is while it gives us good exposure putting ourselves against a SL team ...the reality is the crowd won't remotely be near that Warrington game ...mainly because of two factors ....Leeds won't travel anywhere near the numbers Warrington did for obvious geographic reasons ...and the fact the sportsman is televising it ...add to that the costs the council will incur..Leeds travel expenses...I'd imagine we'll be a million miles off the money made from the wire game ....I'm expecting the attendance to be a smidge above the crusaders game at the weekend...we'll most likely make maybe a third if we're lucky

@pauliewalnuts not greater knowledge bud just saw the barrow chairman shut down Gav Wilson on a forum when he suggested York had done barrow a favour by foregoing "their half" .....hadn't read that I wouldn't have known myself 😂

@cumbria-viking got to be realistic if you had a wedding at the stadium hired one room plus food for guests it would be £2000+
we hire 3 rooms for catering and boxes plus kiosk staff and security and stewarding that's a lot of staff !!! At minimum wage for 6 hours? That's a lot of money every game !!

amazing job to make a profit last year

Also, Leeds are in Vegas in 3 weeks, so fans will be saving their 'hard earned'.

Was chatting with Tim the other night, and was discussing the Viking Village experience

was asked if giving people in the Pat Price easier access to it via entrance and exits from the north stand would encouragevuseage

They are actively looking At improving this to increase revenue streams.

They get no income whatsoever from the concourse stalls so are trying to encourage people to use the village the problem they have is they cannot get a license to sell alcohol so are not getting the footfall they hoped for as yet with people grabbing a beer beforehand in the locals

But this is a work in progress

was also told there were a few innovations that weren’t implemented on Sunday so hopefully the experience will be even better next time

The bowler has a licence and is next to the Vikings village maybe something could be done with them not sure what but am sure they could think of something.

@member151 But you cannot get a pint at the bowler during the game, the north stand is the worst place in the league to get a pie and a pint it's embarrassing. This should be part of the minimal match day experience, many have stopped attending due to this simple ask but nothing gets done. Before everyone shouts out  "it's the council" and they are the landlords then the clubs are the fans landlords for the duration of the game.

@scouseviking55

was that a shared gate ? And also expenses would have been higher as the direcfans were put in the west stand which is not open for the Leeds game - they are in the south stand

But the Stadium is owned by you, the Council Tax payer, so we can all go round in circles and blame each other for the lack of pies.

The facts are, WV have no say in what is sold in the concourse bars, they don't get a penny from the sales from these concourse bars. The bars are stocked, and staffed by the Council. It's frustrating, as you have to miss a part of the action, to go and buy your pint and pie. It's a lot better in the South Stand as you just pop into the Bridge Suite (if in Gold & Silver seats) and 'Bob's your Uncle'. That said, the regular S. Stand seats have the same issues as the North Stand.

Not saying you are wrong, but I've yet to hear of anyone not going the games because they can't get a pie & a pint.

Yeah I understand that mate I was just thinking of the pre game and getting more fans to attend the “Viking village” like has been said the club don’t have a say in what’s sold inside the ground but hopefully the club’s officials could pass this info on and improve what’s sold and how quickly they can sell it.

The club pay a rental agreement for the stadium usage people booking a room as a one off dont. Widnes also supplied 4,000 fans to buy food and drink that the council make money off, be a tidy sum as well, dont even use plastic cups for the cans!  (Mistake vs Wire last year handing out cans)

North Stand on Sunday, 1 food counteçr open, 4 staff on it. About 3,000 fans in the stand. Half time is 10--15 mins? Impossible job. South must be a bit better as lower numbers.

It's not great and does reflect poorly on the Club, rather than the Council.

After not been sat on since September, I begrudgingly took wipes to clean my ST seat in the Gold Section, as apparently, the Council don't 'clean seats', they only brush the floor. Tim is checking our lease agreement to see if it's the Council's problem of the Clubs. In my opinion, which counts for nothing, if you hire a venue, you expect it to be fit for purpose.

I've always said, if WV ever die, then one of the main factors will be the stadium.

@pauliewalnuts Didn’t we say a few weeks ago, that we were going to invite  kids to the ground to train and meet the players, and ask them to clean a section of seats afterwards.?
