Is it just Widnes or have other clubs seen gates plummet ?
Rugby League in general is suffering badly at this moment. Whilst on the other hand, Football is booming… Some are blaming COVID for poor attendances …Others are blaming general apathy towards the game.
Yeah, I agree. You can throw the new concept of the cricket 100 in the mix to. New concept, high intensity, family orientated = big crowds. Having recently watched Wigan v St Helens & Wigan v Leeds last night, the game as a spectacle is abysmal

Probably a bit of both.RL has a higher proportion of older fans too, I would guess.Fans who have been scared off from watching the telly.
Bearing in mind the proportion of ST holders who are OAP’s its not surprising that they are missing atm. Many will have been warned by their GP that ailments that are the norm in OAP’s can be enhanced by Covid, with lasting results. They’ll be back, God willing!
Trust me they won’t. They are now victims of their mental health, next season they’ll be older, they are out of the routine. They are gone forever. People are that scared of dying, they are not living. You might as well be dead, than stare at the 4 walls of your ‘living’ room all day. Paulie xx

Couldn't agree more, I switched off Wigan & Leeds last night. The standard of rugby about at the moment is very poor.

One of the reasons people are staying away, has been the way the club have treated loyal fans. Payed our season ticket money to the club, when covid kicked in. Use to give to VIQI. Like at lot of people could not do season ticket this year, Club not answering Emails. Club not interested in loyal fans of many years. A lot of people not attending for this reason. You could only have a ticket is you had a season ticket what a joke
