A lot of thorough work needs to be done on working out why our fan base has dropped so much.
Not really.Piss poor performances and results since 2016.Simple.
Also: ticket prices, lack of match day entertainment, poor concourse fare from the council, lack of matchday meeting point (no real reason to get to the ground early or anywhere to go)
Good point about the lack of meeting point and concourse; strolled in at 2.50, went to the concourse after Fax scored their try, it was dead. Cue groans 15 mins or so later with the concourses are shut at HT announcement.
When I first went 20 years ago as a kid, we used to go into the Social Club before the game at about half 1 and it was packed out....
I think the truest reflection will be the first game in Feb though, everyone with the chance to have a Covid double jab, new season with everything to play for....
the stadium is old and run down, needs a total makeover for those of us who do go it is horrible.

I take it you never went to the old incarnation Naughton Park. If the council are going to spend £ 4 or 5 million on 2000 people I think I’d prefer to have my portion as as a cheque 😁😁

It's not that bad - just needs freshening up a bit. Easily done with some graphics, signs etc.
23 years is hardly old for a stadium.
Have been to several away grounds since fans have been allowed back into stadia, ours is in a far better condition than any of them.

But if you compare to some of the newer ones its in need of some TLC
Looks little more than a pitch from that view.
As you can see Sinbad, it was a grass pitch but there wasn’t much cover for spectators.
However, we rarely had bumper crowds and most of us stood in the rain watching the game (and usually a few brawls), then queuing up for a wee in unhygienic medieval toilets.
Happy days
Ah yes Glynn, concrete pillars with rusty barbed wire, open air pish stones, kids bunking in near the bowling green, broken concrete terracing, Wire scum causing mayhem............... the list goes on. Miss all that tbh
Reading on the WV Wikipaedia (sic) site referring to the mega replay saga to get to Wembley with over 20,000 for replays!!!
Would love a sell-out crowd!!!

Funnily enough I said this to my wife as we came past the bottom end, a lick of blue paint to the gates and doors would brighten them up and the same to the stair wells would make all the difference AND would cost nothing for labour as you use college students as site work preparation. When I was a lecturer at St Helens College our Construction dept often were loaned with their students for site work at local schools and even Knowsley Road.
That's where the council come in though I suppose and I guess given Covid they are not really that bothered about aesthetics atm.
Would be good to see a bit of a spruce up before the start of next season.
Also be good to see matchday priced below £20 IMO.
