Why are we still thinking Kear is making the signings? Do we really think he came here and thought 'wow, what a top squad, I only need a couple of signings and we'll challenging for top 4.'
If SMITH hadn't have retired, he would have got another contract, why did not retain Roby? Why give Grady another year and get rid of Baker? Why give Young Will a two year deal when he doesn't look Championship standard?
Some baffling decisions made with regards to new signings and retentions, yet Kear will get the blame but Finney will be with us the following season.
Couldn't agree any more been like this for far too long now. Change was needed throughout the club and never happened and as usual it will be the fans who loose out yet again.
Is it only at Widnes where fans call for the Chief Executive to be sacked, if the team does not perform well on the field?
I agree that the signings to date have been a bit underwhelming, given the indication of the money available for signings this year, but cannot see that Kear has not recommended or agreed to the new signings and retentions. I doubt that he would still be here if that was not the case. I am prepared to give Kear and the squad a chance to prove the doubters wrong in 2023. Losing Doro and Baker is a disappointment, but were they released or was it their choice? We can only guess.
We all have opinions on individual players and the squad as a whole but, in my opinion, we must be aiming for a top 6 finish in 2023.
As regards Walker, he certainly does look out of shape and does not fill you with confidence, but he does run in hard and in the Wales game, it took 2/3 players to tackle him when he ran with the ball. There are a few players around the Championship who look in similar shape and seem to play well against Widnes. We do seem to have covered the prop position, where we were lacking last year.
Fingers crossed. Kear (or Finney - another mate?) have seen something in him that has eluded a number of fans and Walker shines on the pitch in 2023 in a successful squad, finishing in a play-off position.
I agree Walker looks out of shape , but hopefully in the next 3 months, we can get him a bit fitter, and you could compare him with Pauli Pauli at York, who also looks overweight, but has done a good job this season in short 10-15 minute spells, hopefully Walker could do a similar job for us.

Happens at Warrington very regularly & Leeds
@wrlfcefc1989 Listened to an interview Tyrer did ahead of last season (can’t find it now!) on how he joined Widnes… Spoke volumes. Also would give another reason to why Sheens left

What did he say?
Basically, that he signed for the club before Finnigan and didn't know that FINNIGAN was going to be the coach when he did sign. FINNEY signs the players he wants, that was the issue SHEENS had and the reason why we struggle to get a decent coach. It's no different now from when RULE was here, he admitted that we didn't have a scout (we still don't), the CEO works with agents after looking at highlight reels and stats, the coach is there to coach the players he wants.
KEAR will be happy to tow the line for a season or so to top up his pension after getting the sack at the Bulls.
You’ve gotta look at it this way finney was there when rule was and didn’t say a thing about what was happening he hung on as long as he could and was rewarded with a ceo job which makes absolutely no sense he talks in the recent documentary from the club how he has no business background yet he’s effectively running are club and I’d even question his knowledge of rugby league due to these recent signings. The man is an absolute slim ball

Awaiting Mick George meltdown moment 😎
@wrlfcefc1989 So it was Finney who signed Tyrer then, but he did say when he came here in 2021 that it was Sheens who sold the club to him. Did he suggest that he would not have signed if he had known that Finnigan was to be the coach? A bit surprising that he signed a new deal for 2022 in that case when Finnigan was still here.
And you are suggesting that Kear has no loyalty to the Club and is only here to top up his pension?
Could be an interesting fans forum when these questions are raised with Finney and Kear.

When Finney took over as CEO, I don’t think there was any competition as we were in administration, we were just looking for people to help the club out, and he was one of the few people who put money into the club to help keep it going, along with the supporters.

Frankg, you do come up with some twaddle and have done on here for quite a few years. Do you really think someone is going to ask Kear if he is here to top up his pension? The man is 67 years of age for gods sake, he may love RL but hes a bloody pensioner, why else is he here?
Do you sit there in your vest and undies eating sausage rolls whilst drinking Rola Cola typing sh8te to defend the club no matter what?
Come on mate start getting real and look at what is going on and has been going on for the last few years.
- @farnworth-viking what money did finney put into the club? And if that is the case he has as much reason to be ceo as you or I considering I put my hand in my pocket numerous times of the campaign to save the club. We have a board what do we actually need him as CEO for I really don’t see what he brings to the table apart from a full and dismal interview every now and then
@wrlfcefc1989 Oh dear, calm down. It is only my opinion and it seems to have rattled your cage. If you are so sure of your "facts" on both Finney and Kear, why not put those facts to both of them at a fans' forum, or is it that you prefer to snipe from the anonymity of social media. Are there any other conspiracy theories that you would like to share?
As to your ageist remark about, John Kear, just maybe he sees coming to Widnes as a challenge - and it is some challenge - to use his enthusiasm and experience in the game, to improve the team. Just saying. As a Widnes fan, I want him to succeed.
And thanks for sharing your sartorial and diet fantasy on here. Made me laugh.
I am happy to read all the sh8te that you write on here, so I am happy you read mine and accept it with such good grace.
Keep it up. Maybe you should post a link to this Tyrer interview that allegedly supports your conspiracy theory about the Club.

Frankg, you clearly need to get a second interest to go with watching the vikings as you clearly have little understanding of real life and how a fans forum works, it all about being anonymous and airing your opinions.
Over a number of years, you have defended the club and various employees, such as James Rule, Denis Betts, and even Tom Gilmore when they have been absolutely garbage.
Other posters have pointed out issues with Finney many times but you still defend him. There are people on here who have knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes because its Rugby League not big time football, but you poor scorn on any information you read on here. I know people who pulled their kids out the academy because of him and gone onto other clubs with success.
Do you have pictures of Finney alongside your Samantha Fox posters on your bedroom wall? Do you sit there eating your sausage rolls admiring him when you get lonely?
