Not sure if anyone else has seen the twitter post from the club, but it sounds like there’s to be an announcement on 22-9-22 which would appear to be the return of the Academy team!
Great news if so!
Just seen it Steve but not sure what it’s about, it literally does not give a hint. Someone mentioned the Academy but no idea why as it doesn’t mention it, just goes on about redundancies and the club folding. Hoping, myself it’s a big investor👍👍
after watching it again it does say “it’s a pity the academy is not here”
Would rather its regarding investment in the 1st team. No point in the academy if its only to help develop kids for Superleague teams.
@d-day Is it only to develop kids for Super League?
Or is it to develop Owens, Brookes, Ince, Farnworth, Grady, Lawton, Lyons, Edge, Tilleke?
Of course the better players will go to Super League clubs, but it also produces players for us in the Championship. One thing I think we’ve found over the years in the Championship is the lack of players. Surely increasing the pool of players available to us is a good thing?
No idea if the teaser video is for the academy though, not sure what the Offiah try would have to do with that.
Academy and fulltime nxt year I've heard
I will be happy with the academy back as long as the first team is also improved and we make the play offs, no point hanging around 7th, 8th shouting about us having a great academy and producing players for other clubs if we are rooted to mid table permanently, investment is very much needed in the first team before anything else
I’m not sure how the academy would work?
Didn't the RFL grant academy licence’s until 2027? I don’t think any other club can play in the system until then?
The more I think of the video, the more I think it will season tickets on sale
@viking25 You could be right as it’s getting toward that time of year. I suppose there is a risk in a cryptic advert that we can all perceive it differently!
it'll be the academy returning...highly unlikely to be full time as kear already hinted who was staying after the Bradford game n a large chunk of those players already have jobs outside the club

Is there any way anyone can tell the many non-twitterers like me how to read this post?
It's all very well for the club to use Social Media, however using normal language on it's own website for anyone to read would also be useful.
@cumbria-viking as I read it nobody can apply to have an academy till 2024 to get in in 2027.
@richard-richard God knows then haha ...maybe the application was made a good while ago but only just rubber stamped ....yes I am clutching at straws lol...must admit the whole promo points at it being academy but ye never know with our social media team ..could end up something dead random
@cumbria-viking that's what I just read but I maybe wrong,after all it's the RFL we're talking about 🤷♂️🤣

It could also pre-empt an announcement by IMG revising Academy provision.
Our game is being swamped by Women's SL (soccer and RL!) and anything that limits junior involvement in our game needs looking at!!!
