Oh dear, I was so confident but completely wrong again! In future I’m going to stick to Bob and his Pat Price Prediction league table. Anyway, Leigh has a good away following, so with Newcastle replacing them our home attendances are going tobbe affected, or is this just another duff hunch?
It's not Newcastle's job to fill our ground, or any away team, for that matter.
It's up to the Club to rally the support, to make it attractive to attend etc.
Paulie xx
Nows the time to look forward to fixture release and enjoy
hope for Toulouse in early June - at least we won’t be February now, probably the hottest day in august
who are our local derby opposition for the bash ? Probably Newcastle !
York, maybe. Newcastle might get Whitehaven.
Probably Swinton
Would think it would be swinton/ oldham
batley/dewsbury
brad/fev
fax/ sheff
leaving York,Newcastle,Whitehaven,London,Toulouse and us
probably Whitehaven out of that lot then, Toulouse and London could open up as they will have no fans
In the Bash, they may go for 'big' games, especially if its televised: let's not forget when we played Leigh last time the TV audience was very good.
I could see us playing Bradford tbh.
In the short term, its a guaranteed Top 3 Championship team gone which opens up a play-off spot that maybe wouldn't have been there for someone.
In terms of Easter fixtures, if we get a relatively normal Easter, presumably Swinton/Oldham now the derby....
Oldham Vs Swinton
Dewsbury vs Batley
Featherstone vs Bradford
Tolouse Vs London

Whitehaven vs Newcastle

Sheffield vs York
Widnes vs Fax
We don't have a derby team now without Leigh. Fax would be a competitive game with a few fans.
Our local Derby Easter fixture in2019 was York away on Easter Monday, so it could be anyone.

Quite right. But 4000 Widnes fans plus 1500 from Leigh is a better attendance than 4000 Widnes fans with 50 from Newcastle. The bigger away crowd is a bonus but you can't rely on it.

And we’d probably get more home fans for Leigh at home than Newcastle...

Apparently there won’t be a Bash next season.
I believe there is a meeting this week to discuss the forthcoming season for championship and league 1 clubs, assume this will include some sort of cup competition - 1895 or northern rail style
At least Leigh wont be knocked out this time!
keenan brand has gone to leigh on loan
Well that will keep the splinters in his bum
