Sunny makes sense as we only have 2 centres and injuries will occur during the season. I also think Jack Owens needs competition at fullback too, and you know me I like a fullback who is safe under a high ball and with some speed. Last season we definitely got lucky with Gilmore and Lyons never injured. 👍
Real pace is something that we always used to have, Tait, Offiah, Davies, Currier, Hanbury etc.
It excites the crowd and also means that breaks in your own half can become tries. It also means that teams have to leave someone at the back to cover.
Gets better!!!!!!!!
Beggy lad I love top speed and a safe fullback. Sandgroper we was definitely spoilt with Tait, Davies, Offiah and Hanbury as players. Great memories but finding a few gems can be beneficial even for a season. 👍 I think most of us are looking forward to the season and the squad is starting to look slightly stronger than last season. Hopefully get Rambo fitter and Langtree stays fit as they be like new signings.
Lewis Hall signs on a one year contract, he played LF a Swinton
FB Owens tbc
WG Ince Butt Sumner
CB Edge Fleming tbc tbc
HB Lyons Gilmore Patton
PF Kirk Reilly Murray Bennion Bailey tbc
SR Lloyd Bent Langtree Roberts Lannon
HK Johnstone Fozard
LF Gregson Hall
That is 23 signed.
Don’t think we’ve signed anyone yet that definitely goes into our starting 13.
Adding depth to the squad, but think we’re missing a bit of added quality.
Its about building, isn't it, there were times last year when we could just about put a side out and it cost us. Hopefully this year we will have competition for places and be able to select on form rather than who have we got.

Agree we struggled when had so many injuries last season. I feel if had a depth of a squad I feel we would have kept the momentum going with results rather than losing games we should have won. Hall has been mentioned as a skillful and aggressive player by the Swinton fans. If we sign Romeo, Cameron Brown and a big prop I will be very happy with the squad. Things don't happen overnight and more fans means more revenue for better players, WVIPS members and buying kids pass it on Season tickets all helps. This just my opinion but I feel this squad is stronger than last year.
And players with 'knocks' can be rested!
No mention of Bussey anywhere yet.
That's probably because it's a load of shite.
Paulie xx
23 now..3 to go..Joey Romeo... Cameron brown....plus one other .. probably another kid if I was a guessing man ....little bit still hangs on that the best is saved for last ..but if not all told im pretty happy with that squad...far stronger than last season...bodies...options ..only concern would still be nobody exceptionally quick ...Romeo has good pace ..Sumner aswel ..but nothing compared to what maizen would have brought ..

I also think it is a stronger squad than last year if add them 3 players. I would like another big strong centre even though LLoyd and Roberts can fit in there for an emergency. Nobody knows how quick Cameron Brown is or anything about him? If another Maizen quality player we will all be very happy. Fingers crossed that Edge and Flemming stay fit, because I believe Edge will be a class act as this level and was missed last season.
22 on board now...if 26 is the magic number then we've got Lewis hall..joey Romeo to announce ...plus two others unknown up to now ..one may be maizen if there's a favourable outcome ....
Not sure how credible it is but serious about RL state in the Patton signing article that we've signed Jack bussey ...not linked but already signed ...
I read that in Serious about rugby league that Patton has followed team mate Jack Bussey. If we signed Romeo, Hall, Maizen and Bussey I be very happy with the squad. Looking decent already. 💪👍
As ever I'd take SARL with a big pinch of salt. Bussey works as a fireman in the Featherstone area and I'll be surprised if his next club isn't much more local (York, Doncaster etc). If he signs for the Vikings it's more likely to be the Goole version I reckon.
You are probably right with that Lord Lucan, and I can see them messing up the two teams. Goole need to change their name.
Paulie isn't usually wrong with these things, and his "load of shite" quote implies that he doesn't think Bussey will be at Widnes.
😀
Patton's always had the ability...you don't score in a grand final..play 80+ super league games if your rubbish ... unfortunately his attitude towards match officials is his Achilles heel lol... hopefully Coleman can get him playing a tune .. concentrate on performing and not gob off ...some Fev fans commenting he was crap for them but maybe that's down to mr hype job ford ...seems an absolute plum like kilshaw got him on firing but ford couldn't ..I'm giving him benefit of doubt just purely because Coleman's track record for signings and getting the best out of them has been pretty exemplary up to now
Patton does indeed have lots of ability and indeed he set up 3 tries in the first 20 minutes of his first game for Fev. Unfortunately he disappeared for the rest of the game, was anonymous for the next game at Toulouse and picked up a 6-game ban in that match whilst also being sin binned for a separate incident. That pretty much damaged any chance of making a real impact at Fev as there were only about 3 games left when he returned.
He's got loads of skills and his kicking game is excellent, playing on an artificial surface you should expect to see loads of 40-20s, he's probably the best in the division at that. He has a good understanding of shape and can create openings and he's a good passer of the ball...it's just his temperament that can let him down and I'm not sure coaching has much to do with that.
He should be an upgrade for you though as he's far more creative than Lyons in every facet of the attacking game.
I've seen Cameron brown watching Crusaders. He seemed a great player in champ1. Lead them around the park well.
