Not usually one for “must win” games, as I don’t think there are any games that shouldn’t be must win!

But need to win this one on Sunday if play-offs are going to be a realistic aim for the season, particularly with two tough Yorkshire trips ahead.

Play offs ? Couldn’t care less to be honest about the play offs. I still haven’t ruled out relegation.

Interesting result for Bradford / Fev. !

Re the knockers, of doubtful loyalty imo, there were real supporters there on Sunday. Just don’t know why the moaners don’t just go and play with their toys.

I think we would need to have a lot of luck with injuries to make the playoffs. With three home defeats already and several away days in Yorkshire to come I think we really needed the win on Sunday to keep our hopes alive. Think Sinbad is correct that relegation is still a possibility and a win on Sunday would give us some breathing space in that regard.

    No chance we get relegated.

People under estimate just how bad some teams are in this league.

We shouldn’t get relegated. I certainly don’t think we will be. When anywhere near full strength we look a mid table or slightly better team. But it would only take four or five injuries and a few defeats to put us back under pressure. As long as most of the key players stay fit we will be fine.

Absolutely. We should be aiming for the playoffs. Last few weeks shows we’re more than capable.

At the beginning of the season, I was convinced that we had a squad capable of making the play-offs. The results and performances up until the Featherstone game certainly put paid to that expectation.

As others have said, there is a big gulf between the clubs at the top and bottom of the Championship.  You have Toulouse and Featherstone and possibly London, York and Bradford at the top end and Whitehaven, Swinton and Oldham at the bottom end. We are then grouped with Batley, Dewsbury, Halifax, Sheffield and Newcastle in the middle group.

If we can maintain present form and avoid too many injuries, particularly in the forwards, we have an outside chance of making the top 5, but more likely will finish 8th to 10th as suggested by Glynn.

I hope that the club are planning for next season, with a view to building on any positives from this year and having a good go at the play-offs in 2022.

I know how poor some teams are in this league and not so long ago you could have said that we was one of them.We are always just two or three injuries from fielding a scratch team.

Narrow defeats against the favourites for the league. There’s plenty of worse teams out there that we’ll no doubt win. We should be totally aiming for the playoffs

Just want to clarify that even though I believe it is unlikely we will make the playoffs that I think the coach and players  absolutely should be aiming for them.

We have showed classic mid-table form this year IMO: beat the bad sides, some awful performances, some close run things against better teams too.

For me, its a case of can we get some wins against Halifax, Bradford etc rather than (no offence intended) Whitehaven, Oldham, Swinton….

As for Sheffield, they are a side we should be looking to beat at home: if we have a decent squad available then I believe we have every chance.

I agree we should and will win this game, think we will make playoffs but nearer 6 than top

Hopefully if we do make the playoffs we can make a decent showing, we are not ready as a club to go up, and without Toulouse next season and decent recruitment it could go well

There’s certainly a stark (if unsurprising) difference between our record against the top and bottom half sides.

Excluding Cup games we have won three, drawn one and lost one against teams in the bottom half.

Played 4 and lost 4 against top half teams.

Remaining games v bottom half teams are –

    Sheffield (H)

    Dewsbury (A)

    Whitehaven (A)

    Oldham (H)

    Swinton (A)

Win these and we won’t go down. But as you say, we badly need some points against the decent sides.

Top half fixtures to come –

    Bradford (A)

    Halifax (A)

    Featherstone (H)

    London (A)

    Batley (H)

    York (A)

    Halifax (H)

    Bradford (H)

I would say we have some tough games ahead, with 8 out of 13 against top half sides. Hence why I think making the playoffs could be a tall order. Batley and Halifax at home look our best chances in that list and they certainly are not gimmes.
