I've mentioned this before, but I just love the arrers!

Just watched an absolute classic from the Ally Pally, with Cool Hand Luke, finally getting the better of the German Giant!

I read the other day that darts is second only to Premier League soccer for viewing figures on Sky.

I've had a bet on Gian van Veen at 14/1 to win the title.

Spelly.

Littler was absolutely ruthless last night Spelly. VV just didn't score heavily enough consistently and missed far too many crucial out-shots. If you do that against a player of Littler's calibre, you're just going to get rinsed. Regarding Littler, absolutely unreal. 18 years old. No nerves at all it seems. Can handle the pressure like he's been at the top for 20 years. It'll be really interesting to see how his career pans out. I can see multiple world title wins if he can retain the drive, or maybe he'll just win a ton of money(pretty much a certainty)and call it a day at a pretty young age, never needing to lift a finger again. I was disappointed when the crowd were giving him a hard time against Rob Cross, but the way he handled that was brilliant. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually gets into double figures of world titles if he stays in the game long-term, simply because of his age and ability. Whether anybody can overtake The Power is a very tall order indeed.

Absolutely correct mate!

Littler was on another planet from the second set. Still a teenager, banking a mill last night, but can handle the pressure no prob. Also when being interviewed, he's at total ease. Mature beyond his years.

His board management is just the tops.

He's young enough to match, or even beat, the Power's record, but as you say, he may well retire whilst still young, as he's sure to be pulling in the big bucks whilst he continues to be active.

Naturally, I was disappointed van Veen lost, as I'd had a bet on him, but no doubt the best player in the comp lifted that sparking trophy!

Well done, and congrats to a lad from Warrington!

Spelly.

The Darts World Championship is probably my fave sporting event of the year these days, the drama is unmatched.
