I would keep the c cup final at Wembley, but unless they’re going to have the 1895 final before the main cup final, I don’t think there’s any point in having it there. I remember from 1999, how there was no atmosphere at all when we played, with only about 5, 000 fans left, They could have it at 12-30, and the main final at 3-30, it would still be all over by 6-00, in time for the BBC evening programmes. And have the Women’s final as a curtain raiser to the Grand Final at Old Trafford.

I am fully of the belief the the CC is in demise and on the wane. However another couple of entertaining games like yesterday,  involving two teams who aren't part of the usual suspects, could be the catalyst for a revival in its fortunes.

The FA CUP Final used to ko at 3pm, until a few years back and now it starts about 5pm. The BBC don't worry about any disruption to it's Saturday evening schedule. The whole idea of the 1895 Cup was to give the lesser Clubs a chance of playing on the hallowed turf. Ask any of those 'Fax & Batley players would they have preferred to play it elsewhere. I know what answer you would get. The same now goes for the Women's Final.

If you're a Day Tripper then I'd imagine you are one of the folk who want it moved up North, I went for the weekend, as usual, and fell a back 'in love' with Wembley. I think that was due to the Clubs involved, and the drama of the spectacle. The Golden Point win for Leigh, and the 'Wide to West' try by Batley, 30 seconds or so, after the hooter, was magical.

Roll on June 8th 2024. (there for the grace...)

Top comments Paulie!

We were day trippers, and as I was the only driver, it was a long haul, so.......

Next year, we're heading down on the Friday, and crashing out in High Wycombe for the night, before (strikes permitting) training it to the stadium on the Saturday morning. The hotel is already booked. We'll still come back after the game(s) though.

Just hope that the schedule is 1) Women's or 1895. 2) 1895 or Women's, and then 3) Chemics v Lions!

But meantime................

We're off today on our Carcassonne / Toulouse adventure!, so.................

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!!!

Spelly.
