There must be a reason?

Reading and contributing to the Forum I find it hard to work out while Widnes produces players, though many go to other clubs, we don't produce many career Coaches? We have had Myler, Vinty and Laughton but I can't remember any more.

Any ideas?

Eric Hughes coached Widnes and then Saints and Wigan which seems unbelievable now.Colin Whitfield,Tony Myler,David Hulme.Can't think of any since apart from maybe Bobby Goulding but not at Widnes.

@sinbad

Thanks for jogging my memory!!!

Of course Vinty also coached Wigan too. iirc. Tony Myler, Whitfield and David Hulme were pretty much rescue bids when we were struggling, though I heard that Whitfield was particularly good on fitness.

I was thinking more of long range coaches like Kear who seems to have been around for ages, though that may be because his playing career was finished early.
