Being reported that there is the possibility of Premier Sports broadcasting Championship Games, but on a Monday night.
Not enamoured at the prospect of Monday night games as an attending fan tbh, but good that the Championship would have a TV deal....
Any thoughts?
This will result in fewer fans at the game and even less watching on Premier Sports, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Obviously it’s only a rumour at this stage but I would say a big ‘no thanks’ unless it is something like a highlights package of all the weekends’ games and a discussion show.
Crowds in the league are bad enough with weekend games and playing on a. Monday night would be ridiculous - how many from Widnes would get to a match on a Monday night, never mind away tea spectators from Cumbria or Yorkshire.
Still it’s just conjecture until we know if there is a deal and, if there is, what the deal might be.
It would need to be worth quite a lo of money to justify it. Only 2 teams would be involved each Monday so in theory it works. In practice though would all part time players be able to get off work in time? It used to work for week day evening matches prior to Super League so should still work out ok if the money is right.

Poor option for PT teams and fans if the games were shown live. A highlights show with all games covered makes sense. Big negative regarding encouraging youngsters to come to games.
No mention of whether the cash will be dedicated to the Championship or gobbled up into the SL package?
Historically it worked for the Floodlit Cup on a Tuesday night but that was back in the days when it was still a viable form of entertainment.
As an aside does anybody know who set up the idea of the Floodlit Cup when he became head of programming for, the th3n new, BBC2 ?

Wasn't the Floodlit extra to the league games, they went ahead as usual??
Was it David Attenborough?
Why not the Saturday night slot, the one which SKY used to use for SL (can't remember now if it was half 5 or 6?)

It was.

Yes - it was a cup, so was on top of the league games, and the Lancashire Cup, the John Players Trophy, the Challenge Cup and, just for good measure, the A & B Motors Cup. A.k.a. The good old days 😉
I still reckon that was just about the most enjoyable season for me when we won all four cups.
As an extra cup it might be OK, but not regular games. Teams taking part should be compensated for loss of supporters attending.
If this is true, would all Championship games be on a Monday Night? 🤔
If not (and assuming the rest of the games would remain on a Sunday) it would disadvantage teams playing on a Monday Night, as they would have almost a day and a half less recovery time for the following weekend.
