Magic Weekend

I am hearing that the Magic Weekend has been moved from Newcastle to Leeds for 2024.

Not sure what that is all about.

I thought that the original concept was that it would be a unique promotional vehicle for the Sport.  Now, it just seems a bit pointless, other than messing up an already daft fixture list.

Why take it to an already established area of the country?  I can't see it doing much for the local economy either because most fans will go there for the day rather than the weekend.

IMG's great vision should have seen the Magic Weekend binned off for good along with the ridiculous loop fixtures (either that or increase Super League to 14 teams).

That would have been a decent start to their great revolution.

But when has common sense ever been a buzz word in Rugby League since SL came along?

But I thought that thousands of tickets were sold to people with north east postcodes? That's what the RFL told me.Farce.The game of RL here is just a small time, minority sport with little interest outside the hearlands  but can't face up to the fact and pretends to be something it isn't.
