Worrying times up in West Cumbria, with players leaving coz they've not been paid.
Will they see the season out?
I know what it's like to be thinking "Will I still have a team to support tomorrow?" and it's no fun!
When you're a fan, it gets in your blood, flows through your veins, and the prospect of the club you love disappearing, is frightening!
I have a mate at the Rec, and he used the words "bleak at the moment" in a message to me the other day.
Should the unforeseen happen, and they can't complete their fixtures, would their previous results this season be expunged? Teams who've beaten 'em would say "No!" But the likes of your mob, and mine, would have one less "L" on the ladder. What would be the least unfair process?
Also, would only one team be relegated instead of two? I want to stay up, but I want us to do it on the park, and not off it!
Sone huge decisions will have to be made in the forthcoming days and weeks!
Spelly.
Yes it is sad. Apparently Workington are also struggling. We all said this would happen with the reduced funding. I reckon at least 6 clubs could disappear in the next few years. The RFL do not seem to be at all bothered about it.
Yes it is bad news but hopefully they can pull through. The RFL have not been bothered about it for years, if it continues we could be down to 2 divisions again
Wow it’s on bbc news now - they lost 3 players last week as they were not paid which would explain Newcastle win
if they fold all results will be expunged a sad end to a club born in the boom fifties with Workington, and Blackpool
