Well done to Batley, but not a surprise to a few on here. In some way, I would love to see them put one over on Leigh next week, if only to see Beaumont’s reaction, but can’t see it happening. At least, if Leigh are promoted, it does open up the Championship next season to some extent.

It will be interesting to see whether McDermott stays at Featherstone and whether they look to strengthen their squad for 2023 for another tilt at SL.

Congrats to Batley, shows what can be done with good coaching and recruitment.

As for Fev, I'm afraid Mr McDermott has made a mess of it with the players at his disposal; I can't help but feel that Lingard or JK could have done better.

That Batley scrum half who scored 6 goals may be worth looking at for next year 😉

1) I too can't see lightning striking twice with the 'Dogs, and I reckon Lam's Lot will win with a bit to spare next week.

2) McDermott staying at Fev? Nooooooooooooooooooooo way for me. He was brought in to get the Flat Cappers dining at the top table, but.......

in 2023 (again) they'll have 'Fax, 'Haven, you mob, and hopefully mine, on the fixture list, meaning he's failed, and the dole queue now awaits him.

I've been saying all season that either Beaumont, or Campbell will be counting the cost should the(ir)dream not become a reality, and for the latter, it's come a week earlier than I expected!

Spelly.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a finals day to look forward to, could have the Women's Championship, Swinton v Doncaster and Leigh v Batley all on one day!

@cj91

Just shows what a smart scrum half can do with a decent workmanlike pack.

Any Batley players worth signing? How did Gilmore play as I think that is 1 signing possibly. 😂🥖

I think I've said it before, I'd love us to have a prop like Gledhill in our team next year, hits hard, runs strong and always looking for a good offload.

That's a disaster for Featherstone. Not that they would beat Leigh anyway but to not even make the final is disappointing for a club with ambition. You have to wonder if they will ever make it to SL.Up against Toulouse next year who will likely be too strong for the rest.

Question is do batley want to go up, and can they - facilities wise

if they do they will be recruiting big time and their scrum half may be available for a championship club

He hasn't. Resigned today.

A Batley win would be very interesting no matter how unlikely.
