Hopefully a few extra players back and considering they got beaten at Whitehaven, I think we have a good chance there
followed by an away game at Betty’s place, I am looking forward to attending the leathers game
onwards and upwards !
Need two confidence boosting wins to set up the big game v Leigh. The Barrow defeat was deflating and ruined a good start to the season. We could have been sitting pretty with a two week break but it is what it is.
It may give us a bit of confidence but they put a pretty weak side out today, whether over confident or injuries not sure. There were 6 missing Pauli, Ellis, Kirmond, Brinning, Jubb & Oakes. They will be even more desperate to bounce back but they struggled to win in London last time out. So we have a chance sure but our line defence will have to improve a lot.
Perhaps York fielded an under strength team in preparation for next week against Widnes, knowing we have had a break.
It would be a strange move to rest players in a cup game where, with the luck of the draw, you have a great chance of a day out at Wembley.
As an aside, I'm looking forward to the semi final draw of the 1895 Cup with five teams in it, will be interesting to see the meltdown if Leigh get Fev in the interim game to whittle it down to four.
Line speed and stopping their legs has to be top priority.
We have enough skill with the ball to win it with a fair share of possession.

York had as much chance of making it to Wembley as Simms Cross. If they did rest players yesterday instead of fielding them in a pointless game then they made the right choice.
York might not have much chance of getting to Wembley, but if they had won, they could have got a home tie in the next round against a SL club, which would have been a big money spinner for them, and if it was one of the bottom SL teams, they could possibly have won it and got even further, earning themselves even more money.

They would have had a decent chance of making it to Wembley if they drew Sheffield in the semi finals, not sure how you class it as pointless.
York would have played Saints at home if they’d won yesterday, they wouldn’t have won, but they would have earned quite a bit of money out of it.
@farnworth-viking Totally agree FV no way would they have tested players while so much money was on the table.
We would be going to Hull KR away if we had won at Leigh but we didn't so we won't.
For those thinking of going to Wembley, it will be deserted on CC/1895 Final Day.
Here for you
