Gareth Hewer is no different from the players - he makes mistakes. So not perfect but I thought he was fair to both sides today and didn’t (as others seem to claim) make the difference.

The better side won, however a much improved performance and, as Whitehaven also suffered a similar to ours heavy defeat by Toulouse, I’m confident we will get the two points at hone next week.

More effort in the first 40 minutes than what we have seen all year put together. The second half was really poor again though

he made 2 big errors i thought that cost us, maybe not the match but at crucial times, the disallowed try and the incorrect ptb where they then scored

Write firstly ye can't blame the ref we played s**t that's it and all about even the first half we was giving stupid mistakes away it was just that york was struggling that kept us in that first half. As for the second half again it was a clueless performance players overrunning also offloads that weren't on etc. I'm unsure what are game plan is can't and I don't think the players do either but things have got to improve. Let's face it finningan isn't the way forward in fact we have gone backwards.

Not sure what board you are reading but I can't find many comments defending this trash. If any.

Other than the forum owner/moderator you mean?

Too early to question SF, not allowed to question Rules understudy…

Lets not all get too giddy folks, remember, it was another scoreless 40 minutes and it wasn't Penrith Panthers we were playing!

215 points conceded in 6 league games, an average of 35.8 points conceded per match.

Taking out the drubbing last week still an average of 29 points conceded per match.

The ease with which some of the tries are scored is the major issue. Even with a functioning attack, you aren't going to be scoring 30+ every week to win.

That says a lot about the fitness to me: linked to the awful second halfs?

If we play like that next week we will beat Whitehaven

Got to win otherwise it's more or less game over and third division.

Grady seems to overrun the ball on a regular basis, which is annoying as it often ends up as a forward pass. Our markers at the play the ball never tackle; the opposition scoot 10-20 yards regularly before a hand is laid on them. Penalties for offside, re-sets awarding extra tackles occur throughout the game, all of which can be described as 'dumb football.' Our coach and the players should have addressed these issues long ago and yet we continue to make the same mistakes in these areas on a regular basis.

Say we beat Whitehaven home and away, Oldham home and away and Swinton away that would give us 13 points. Would that be enough to avoid the bottom 2 in a 22 game season?

Thereabouts most likely. Might be best to beat Newcastle at home as well to make sure.

We had a good 20 minute spell that’s all really.

Defence was better in the main but attack close to the line still looks clueless. Anyone could have seen we were gonna tire towards the last 20 mins. Our fitness has been a concern and that was always going to tell

Hopefully CJ.A loss next week and it's still mathematically possible but would be a real confidence drainer.
