Not a great showing first half, but its an obvious plus that we are still leading. Not at all impressed with the conditioning of some of our lads.

Lyons is too small to play 9, he may have decent distribution but his defence is suspect in the middle and i feel our pack is having to work harder to cover him. Seen him jump the line a few times leaving gaps, its something you will see halves up and down the country do when they dont want the big defensive collision.

Craven is playing well and we need to keep him fit this season.

The bite, no chance, looks like Dwyer puts his hand in the lads mouth.

I can't remember, when is the draw for the sunshine cup ?, or has it already been made.

I think this game must be going for a world record of handling errors.

Telekom takes a bit of stopping from a couple of yards out.

I know there are currently far more important issues, but I wonder when the seats in the Prawn Butty stand will be replaced?

The West stand have been teplaced at least twice (due to changing Sponsors I know) but those South stand seats haven't been changed since the Stadium opened.

Solid enough, but I’m still not convinced we’ll be anything other than mid table.

Hooker needs sorting, although Else looks good and a lot better there than Lyons.

Don’t think we make enough metres, think we need another decent prop, especially if Jewitt isn’t ready.

Newcastle away next week will be a tough test for us.

Thought we did good in the end, clough and cook helped hold the middle up and the young forwards developed from there - farnworth, Dwyer and tilleke . Lawton was great in bursts but could do so much more

danny back to his best and jack too

dummy half still looks problematical, next week won’t help that

cup draw - dire at home

titanic cup - swinton at home

Pack did ok, at least we dont look light up front anymore, Smith is carrying far too much weight. Lyons is not a 9.

Lawton could be great, but he is infuriating to watch and is incredibly inconsistent.

Better performance than last week for me, and if we keep improving next week then we are in with a decent shot of getting the points.

When you say too small what do you mean? He’s 5ft9, don’t think there’s very hookers who are taller than that. He’s around 13 and half stone, not the weightiest but probably the average.

It is not about weight it’s about ability. Danny Walker was far more smaller in all categories but was a good player for us. Do I have to mention a certain Mr Elwell.....

Some good points in that game. Owens & Craven ran the game on the back of our pack winning the tussle. I thought Cook & Clough added a lot to us. Farnworth put an excellent stint in as did Tilleke. Baker worked hard. Tyrer worked hard & is sound in defence.  Else looked good at hooker but IMO was not MOM. Thought Owens, Craven, Farnworth & Clough did more in contributing to the win. Lawton played big minutes  but needs to work much harder than he did today. Smith is steady but did not contribute that much today.

We defended well away from our line but looked suspect at times defending close to it. I was pleased with the backing up & support play. Grady was a big miss IMO. Conditions second half were poor & led to many errors on both sides.Overall we are through to the next round job done. Well done lads.

Lyons nowhere near good enough to play 9, and think Else has played his way to be first choice in that spot now.

Felt like a pre-season friendly, which to an extent it was.

Else certainly looks like a better option at 9 than Lyons, although the lack of a specialist 9 option is going to hurt us at some point.

Minutes under the belt for Clough and Cook which I feel will only be beneficial going forward.

Scored some good tries again but too many knock ons.

Like the idea of the free flowing rugby but too many offloads tried in our own 20 for my liking!!
