No real surprises in the squad of 21, except maybe that there is no Hulme so Fozard must be due to play a full 80 mins again.
I feel sorry for Hulme who always plays well, never letting the team down.
However, assuming everyone is fit the 17 may be something like this:-
Fleming. Ince. Tyrer. Spedding. Edge. (or even Edge in the centre and Spedding on the wing.) Craven. Smith.
Farnworth. Fozard. Lawton. Wilde. Davies. Bent.
Baker. Doro. Either Field/Johnson. Lyons. Without knowing how they perform in training it is difficult to choose between Field (young, keen, stamina) or Johnson (experienced, bigger, makes more mistakes than he should)
We ought to win by a decent score.
Widnes by 30 points, think Lawton will be a big influence in this game
Think you right there, interesting to see if Danny plays
Think it will be an awkward game on Haven's own ground, certainly for a period.
However, they have won only 5 games this year: against London, Dewsbury and Workington.
Be good to see us perform away from home again, as that is something that has been an achilles heel for years!!
Haven 18-36 Widnes I will go for.
I know it's not always good to look back but this fixture last season was one of the worst performances I've witnessed in 25 years of watching us. What a difference a year can make. In JK we trust. I'm hoping it's Widnes by 14+. ⚪️🏁⚫️
@hans-moleman I remember how much of a depressing journey home it was, Dont mind getting beat, but many players didnt try that day. A real lack of effort across the park.
Hopeful there will be a good following today and a much better game to talk about on the loooooong journey home.
Try edge, converted tyrer
haven 0 - 6 Widnes
Converted Try, great start.
try Wilde, converted tyrer
haven 0 - 12 Widnes
Try wilde, goal Tyrer 0-12
Lyons, despite his detractors, had a hand in both of the tries.
Lawton off the field - cut head.
Try Haven
6-12
Lawton off the field - cut head.
Now back on.
